Authentic Task Term Two Our Fertile Question Was: DoWeLiveInA Human Zoo? Our Essential Question Was: How Can We make a difference in human society
The Zoo: This Is Your Life I found that the most useful piece of information when we were looking at the human zoo was the zoo this is your life DVD because it showed what happens in the zoo life with the animals and it gave me the knowledge I needed for making that comparison between animal life and human life and what the difference is. We learned about the lives of Rinos,Orangutans,Lions ,Elephants and Giraffes.
Human society and zooquestions We had to make up a series of questions to make our understanding of this task. We made them about the zoo and human society to understand and find out what this task was more about the zoo or about human society and we grouped them into blooms taxonomy groups.
Essential Question We did the same essentials question as the rest of the class. It was. “How can we make a difference in human society’’. I think that having the same essential question as everybody else was more convenient and we can use the same research devices.
Our Sub Questions We ended up doing our task on animal cruelty in New Zealand. Our two sub questions were: “What are the reasons people are cruel to their pets’’ and What animals are most commonly abused’’. These questions really helped us with our research and keywords.
KNOWLAGE We learned about the animal cruelty and the zoo. Zoo Facts: A crocodile can stay in the sun for 8 hours max Big cats like lions and tigers have rounded pupils and domestic cats have slits In the wild elephants can live to up to 40 years and in captivity up to 60 years. Animal Cruelty Facts: The most commonly abused animal are dogs Every year 9 million chickens die in cadges Every year 1 billion animals are slaughtered (all of them healthy) by the leather company’ Every year 100 million animals die in tests and experiments Every year up to 4 million cats and dogs are euthanized all of them healthy and adoptable

Key Competences Managing self: I feel that I have managed myself really well but I could have done better for I chatted a bit. Thinking I feel that for thinking I did good because I took a lot of initiative in our task and did a lot of it. Using language symbols and text I feel that I could have done better for in the big book I did not really pay much attention to detail in my writing in this task. Participating and contributing I feel that I participated really well to the group and I thought of good ideas and did my part well. Relating to others I feel that I did this well because when I dished out jobs I did ones that I knew they were good at and would not find to hard although I did challenge them a bit.
