connotes more than “nonviolence”.
It implies human beings working together to resolve conflicts, respect
standards of justice, satisfy basic needs, and honour human rights.
Peace involves a respect for life and for the dignity of each human

• Negative Peace –नकारात्मक शाांति -
• Defined as the absence of direct, organized, physical violence; efforts to
promote negative peace include disarmament and peacekeeping
initiatives
• प्रत्यक्ष, सांगठिि, शारीररक ठ ांसा की अनुपस्थिति के रूप में पररभाषिि;
नकारात्मक शाांति को बढावा देने के प्रयासों में तनरथरीकरण और शाांति व्यवथिा

• Positive Peace –सकारात्मक शाांति -
सांरचनात्मक ठ ांसा की अनुपस्थिति की आवश्यकिा ै और मानव अधधकारों के
प्रचार पर जोर ठदया गया ै
• Requires the absence of structural violence and emphasizes the
promotion of human rights
