2. Mr. Steve Yeo is a very knowledgeable teacher and is up-to-date with the economic situation of countries all
around the world. He is able to identify my weak areas, in terms of skills, and address my misconceptions
with patience. He is a passionate teacher who is willing to extend the tutoring session when he feels that
there is a need to, even if it is beyond his obligation. He has helped me to gain more confidence in
economics and as a result I have cultivated a deeper appreciation for this subject.
The pace of the lessons conducted at Adam Smith Learning Centre is flexible to suit the needs of the student.
The teachers are also very considerate as they are aware of the students workload from college. They would
try to lessen any practice assignments to be done outside of lessons. The lesson structure has proved to be
effective as it has aided me essentially to attaining an A grade in H1 Economics.

3. I've never given much thought of attaining a C, let alone an A for economics as my "economics lifetime" has
only been Us and Ss. I joined Adam Smith Tuition Centre just before my prelims in Sept, with little faith that
I could still be saved. At Adam Smith, I was taught many effective exam techniques and skills crucial to
answering questions, and had to apply them countlessly as we went through many practices. Even though I
was much weaker and slower than the other students, the teachers were extremely patient and more than
willing to help me with my questions, making sure my basics were ok. Nearing the A level period, timed
practices were given and through these, and feedbacks, I felt ready to take on the paper for the first time.

4. Adam Smith Learning Centre has helped me tremendously in my preparation for the A level Economics
examination. I improved a great deal in a short amount of time. The June holidays intensive lessons were
crucial to my understanding of case study questions. Furthermore, the focus of weekly lessons is always on
skills and I believe this is instrumental to answer all types of questions well. The materials provided by the
Centre are beneficial and supplement the tips given in class. I would like to thank Mr. Steve Yeo for his
dedication towards teaching Economics and always staying back late to continue lessons and answer queries!
Mr. Steve Yeo also went through every school examination paper I received to review my mistakes and gave
constructive comments on how I could further improve my economic analysis and writing skills. Without Mr.

6. Mr. Jack Tan is a great teacher who has the ability to teach you the skills you need to prepare for the A levels
as well as give you the encouragement you need to face the exams confidently. Before I started Economics
tuition with him, I was generally weak at Economics, scoring U, S, E during common assessments and
midyears. But after being taught by Mr. Tan, I now have a better grasp of the key concepts and techniques to
answer essay questions and case studies. He gives good analogies (be it math concepts or real life situations)
and interesting examples that make Economics easier to understand. These methods not only make
Economics a bearable subject to study, but will also capture your interest and make you genuinely want to
learn more about it.

7. Prior to going for tuition, I was constantly getting U grades and occasionally getting S grades for my
common tests. However, after attending lessons taught by Mr. Jack Tan, I was able to understand the
various Economics concepts and apply them to a wide range of context. The vast difference the tuition has

8. Mr Jack Tan is dedicated and more than just a teacher.
Through his dedication in teaching, he knows how to engage his classes, ensuring maximum absorption. Mr
Tan is also a master at his knowledge in Economics, making him extremely approachable should we have
questions as we are always given value-added responses. Furthermore, he equips us with concise and exam-
oriented notes which prepare us very well for school tests and examinations. The application of economic
theories is his forte, with him placing strong emphasis in this important technique for every class taught.
Being more than just a teacher, Mr Jack Tan is genuinely concerned for our welfare, taking the opportunity to
have a chat with us after class. In recognising my specific weakness in Economics, he also offered to help me
beyond class, inviting me to come back on other days to provide me with more assistance.
I have a lot of respect for Mr Jack Tan and am proud to be his student because I have benefited greatly from
him. Being at risk of retaining in J1, he has helped me pull through by fine-tuning his consultations with me
(I had one-to-one sessions with him), imparting all relevant knowledge as I prepared to sit for my re-
examination. I struggled through J2 as well but eventually jumped 5 grades in A-levels thanks to Mr Tan! He
really made a miracle out of me!
