SharePoint and Project Conference Adriatics, Zagreb 11/28/2012 - Keynote slide deck.
The way in which users create and consume information is changing constantly and rapidly, without any indication that the changes would stop anytime soon.
Just a few short years ago, information was stored on local drives, and in most cases this was consumed through standard PCs. Today we have the situation that information is now stored within hybrid cloud and local environments and consumed by all different kinds of devices. Users’ habits have changed as well, they don’t want to search for information anymore, they want the relevant information to find them. As a result, the way the business perceives information, knowledge sharing and consequently how they implement collaboration platforms, is changing and adapting to a new environment.
Current research is showing that traditional intranets, as we know them, are satisfactory for less than a half of the users that are using them. Navigating through the hierarchical menu structures and using search is not what users are asking for today. Instead of searching for information, users expect information to find them. In this process, the line which is dividing internal (corporate) knowledge, from external information and knowledge is becoming thinner and less important.
This session will show how enterprises can benefit from social computing, and how social computing can become a major instrument in knowledge dispersion. This session also demonstrates what Microsoft SharePoint 2013 can offer in Enterprise 2.0 scenarios.
21. what is enterprise 2.0?
Enterprise 2.0 aims to help employees, customers and suppliers
collaborate, share, and organize information via Web 2.0 technologies.
Enterprise 2.0 is use of emergent social software platforms
within companies, or between companies and their partners or
customers.
