e-learning project development class project designed to assist rural Alaskan students in navigating the systems involved in attending the University of Alaska Anchorage.
The University of Alaska Anchorage is a complex organization with a mission to help provide opportunities for all of the people of Alaska. The schools, colleges, and programs only important as long as they further this mission.
The purpose of this project is to assist UAA Native Student Services in spreading the news about the opportunities at UAA to students in rural Alaska, and to help them feel more comfortable in navigating the complex processes and systems which can sometimes be a barrier for incoming students.
The complex organizationof the university can be confusing and frustrating for potential students unfamiliar with the system.
The potential for return on investment in buildings and programs is not realized until the opportunity is extended to students throughout Alaska.
This class project will consist of a web page that will explain some of the processes of the university. The focus is on providing information in a manner that will invite and encourage prospective students as they explore their opportunities to advance themselves and their communities through learning.
The design of the project emphasizes coordination and teamwork throughout the group as individual components are developed into a cohesive product.
Through this project, we hope to assist rural Alaskan students in attending UAA, and participating in programs that are relevant to their individual goals.
The focus of this project is to help those who might be searching for a way to navigate the system
