3. WHAT DOES AIESEC NOT OFFER?
An opportunity where the sole purpose is earning money.
A holiday
An opportunity for any person to permanently leave their home country and/or territory.
A permanent career placement or recruitment opportunity in another country.
Additionally, AIESEC will have no role/obligation/responsibility/involvement in case, the organisation decides to employ the trainee on a permanent
basis in the host country and/or territory.
AIESEC does not encourage/ nor would facilitate the extension of internships beyond agreed period.

8. WILL I RECEIVE A SALARY DURING MY INTERNSHIP? HOW MUCH DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR SUCH AN INTERNSHIP?
No, you will not be paid any kind of remuneration during this internship as this is a voluntary internship although you might be provided with free
accommodation and fooding depending on the project you chose.
You only pay an administration fees of INR 15,000/- in two instalments i.e. 6000+9000.
The first instalment of INR 6000/- has to be paid while applying for the projects after signing up and the second instalment of INR 9000/- has to
be paid after being chosen for the project you’ve applied to.
In some cases, you might to have pay some nominal fees for the accommodation.
5. 9. DO I RECEIVE A REFUND IF I CANNOT FIND A SUITABLE INTERNSHIP?
Refund Situations:
1. When AIESEC is not able to offer the EP with internship opportunity offers before 6 weeks of preferred realisation date, the EP can claim for the
refund of the raising fee.
2. When there is a delay in completing Visa formalities because of delayed execution of documents from AIESEC’s end, the EP can choose to take
another opportunity or ask for a refund.
Other than that, no refund is guaranteed.
10. WHO WILL HELP ME IN MY HOST COUNTRY?
All the internships are based on a local committee nearby, which is there to help you during your internship. More concretely, the members of this
hosting local committee organise your accommodation, pick you up from the airport, show you around in the city and accompany you to work on your
first day. In addition, they will integrate you into their activities, organise events for you and the other interns and help you get to know the people and
culture of your host country. If there should be any problems, there will always be someone to help you. We will keep in contact with you and support
you in every possible way.
An AIESEC representative of the hosting entity will be taking your responsibility. He/She will be responsible to look out for your experience
throughout the time from getting selected for the internship till the time your internship gets over in that country.
In AIESEC acronyms, they are called as EP buddies who would be responsible to take care of your overall experience.
6. 11. WILL I GET JOB PREFERENCES?
AIESEC has a lot of partners around the world that are multi-nationals who support us for our various programmes globally. Applying to these
companies could give you an edge over the others. Moreover, the world today requires practical hands on skills that could be developed through an
AIESEC internship along with a wholistic personality development. All this put together could make a student more employable.
12. WILL I GET PREFERENCES IN MBA COLLEGES?
If you apply for MBA abroad, you will get preference in the colleges recognised by AIESEC globally. Moreover, while taking admission through GMAT/
CAT, a letter of recommendation plays a key role in the application process where your AIESEC internship certificate could work as one.
13. HOW WILL I GET MY VISA AND TICKETS?
AIESEC doesn’t provide you with VISA or Air tickets. However, we help you obtain the necessary documents required for getting a VISA. Also, we can
also provide you assistance in travel through our national travel partners, Thomas Cook.
14. HOW IS IT RELEVANT TO A COMMERCE/ARTS/ENGINEERING/FASHION TECHNOLOGY (ETC.) STUDENT?
AIESEC internship focuses on building an individual in these respects:

An individual goes through an intense experience in those 6 weeks. He shapes his journey
himself and the learning’s differ from person to person. In the end, the person becomes an
all-rounder. A complete package. Thus, anybody can go for exchange like this, be an engineer
even. All the above points are required in an individual in today’s time. We have even IT
based projects too.
7. 15. WHAT ARE THE EXPENSES THAT YOU PAY?
Following are the expenses, an Exchange Participant is expected to bear :
Flight fare
Visa fees
AIESEC Admin Fees ( INR 15,000/-)
Accommodation and fooding is usually provided in 95% of the projects. Although in a few projects the EP might have to bear a nominal fee for the
same.
16. WHAT IS THE PROCESS OF APPLYING FOR THE INTERNSHIP AND GOING FOR THE SAME ?
The process is really short and simple comprising of 34 easy steps.
Sing Up - At this stage, you would be filling up a form on the national page and creating a profile on the opportunity portal by registering on the same.
Apply - Post sign up, you will be contacted by the nearest Local Office that will guide you through the online portal and help you search for relevant
projects based on your choice. Once, you’ve chosen the projects relevant to you, you can apply upto 15 projects at a time
Matched - After applying to the projects of your choice, you would be given training by the home Local Chapter for preparing for the interview and
you would be giving interviews in all the projects of your choice. Once, you’re selected in the project of your choice, this stage is referred to as
“Matched”.
Realised - Post Matching, you would be attending an outgoing Preparation Seminar hosted by the Home Local Chapter where all the Exchange
Participants are informed about the Do’s and Don’ts of the internship and an induction to the culture of the country they are going to. Along with all
this the EP is also given assistance for VISA and flight tickets (including Health and Travel Insurance) which is facilitated through our National
Partner Thomas Cook. Post this, you’re ready to go to the country and start working on the project. Once you reach the other country, you’re
referred to as “Realised”.
8. 17. HOW GOOD IS THE ACCOMMODATION PROVIDED BY AIESEC?
AIESEC provides moderate level accommodation which includes all facilities needed such as beds, internet, bathrooms, washing machine,
refrigerator etc.
18. IS THE ACCOMMODATION PROVIDED BY AIESEC SAFE?
The accommodation provided is totally safe and is handled by AIESEC members in other countries. AIESEC members in India ensure that the
accommodation provided to exchange participants in other countries is suitable and fits the local culture and traditions.
19. WHAT INFORMATION WILL YOU KNOW BEFORE YOU TRAVEL?
You will be informed with every detail about the place you are going to and the accommodation you are staying in. Also contact information of an
AIESEC person responsible for your internship in the target country will be provided.
20. HOW MANY HOURS AND DAYS WILL I NEED TO WORK ON THE PROJECT IN A WEEK?
You will be required to work for a maximum of 6 hours in day.
Regarding the number of days in a week, it differs from project to project. Normally, you get at least one or two days off.

10. 26. WILL AN AIESEC EXPERIENCE HELP ME GET INTO A COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY ABROAD?

renowned alumni. The AIESEC Experience will definitely help you have an international outlook and a global network. Being a participant of the GC
Program will definitely give you exposure to our Partners. The experience will only be an added bonus to your application.
27. CAN ME AND MY FRIEND/FRIENDS GO TOGETHER FOR THIS INTERNSHIP TOGETHER?
There might me a small chance that two people can take on AIESEC experience. Together but there is not guarantee that you will get the same
project. AIESEC believes in diversity and we believe and encourage students to take this up alone as it helps one’s individual experience and helps you
get out of your comfort zone. We strongly suggest taking up the Global Citizen Program alone. We will ensure you have a fantastic experience and
make friends for life.
28. WILL I GET A CERTIFICATE?
Yes you will be getting 3 certificates namely :
Certificate from your Home Local Chapter (the LC that would be sending you)
Certificate from the Host Local Chapter (the LC that would be hosting you and will be responsible for you project)
Certificate from the National Team of AIESEC India
29. WHAT IS THE OUTGOING EXCHANGE PREPARATION SEMINAR (OPS)?
The OPS is an one day AIESEC seminar, which is run by experienced trainers. You will be prepared for your internship and receive useful tips and
information. Furthermore, you will be able to talk to AIESECers who have already come back from their internship or share your thoughts with other
people going on exchange soon. You do not need to pay for this conference; its cost is covered by the exchange fee.
