1. Rejected Ideas
Avril Lavigne- ‘I'm with you’ This is a music
video with a very slow and monotone beat, at
first we felt this was a individual idea that
would present simplicity with a modern twist.
However, we decided not to go forward with it
as more can be done with a upbeat track.

3. Rejected Ideas: Rihanna - Umbrellas
• We also considered picking this
video because it’s a viewed as a
renowned and iconic video that
has a unique style and structure
making it so memorable. The lyrics
of the song would also make it
possible to construct a narrative
video which could be fairly
manageable task to pursue.
Unfortunately, the iconic status of
this particular piece proved to be a
negative issue for us as this meant
we had a certain expectation to
live up to. Also matching up to the
effects of this would also prove
4. Rejected Ideas: Beyoncé- Check up
on it
We really liked the idea and theme of this music video, but felt it
was not a practical option. This is because it is solely
performative, restricting how much can be done with it.
Initially, we are looking for a music video that can adapt a hybrid
genres, therefore could not use this video. Although, we
managed to use aspects of the video to inspire us for our own
music video, taking one of the per formative scenes from video
and considering to use it in our own video.
This is the exact scene we
plan to replicate in our
video.
5. Final Idea :Truth Hurts-Addictive
We decided to use this
song because it embraced
a combination of two areas
we both had knowledge on
. For example the record is
an R’n’B song which Yinka
had grown up listening to
so now knows the typical
conventions of an R’n’B
music video. Also Aisha's
Asian heritage allows us to
properly explore/convey
the Asian themes within the
original video efficiently.
Alongside those points we
liked fact this video
confirmed to r’n’b
conventions of its time (e.g.
rappers featuring it them)
but also challenged the
conventions (e.g. The use
of a different cultures
recording track to make the
beat) so we believed it
would be an interesting
