2. Puerto Rican Agenda 2005Mission:
“The Puerto Rican Agenda is an informal (ad-hoc)
effort which seeks to harness the social capital of our
community and work as one towards the revitalization
and stabilization of Chicago’s Puerto Rican community
through improvements in education, housing, health,
culture, human and civic rights, economic
redevelopment, youth, and the combating of
gentrification.
We believe in encouraging Puerto Ricans to return to
Humboldt Park’s Redevelopment Area to contribute to
our community becoming self-determinant, self-
actualizing, and self-sufficient. All this being
accomplished in hopes that our Puerto Rican children
can grow up in a united, stable community,
knowledgeable and proud of the rich culture, history
and traditions of their heritage.”
