The document discusses the software and technologies used to create a construction project. It began with Serif Movie Plus X5 for preliminary work, but the software had limited editing options. The project was then upgraded to Adobe Photoshop CS6 and Adobe Premiere Pro CS6, which provided more effects and tools to enhance the quality of the film, digital packaging, and website. These programs allowed for color correction, blurring, layering, speed changes, and precise editing that were crucial for creating the intended music video and digital assets.
2. What technologies did I use?
• The technology I used in my construction
began with Serif Movie Plus X5 for the
Preliminary Task. Then the sixth form
upgraded their software to Adobe Photoshop
CS6 and Adobe Premiere Pro CS6. This
upgrade in technology allowed me to enhance
the capabilities I have in producing a
better, higher quality film, digipak and
website.
3. Serif Movie Plus X5
This software was average but it did not help me explore
different ways to produce a film and didn’t help me reach my
full potential in editing the footage I had gathered. This is
because it only gave me basic options for editing, for example:
• Cutting and cropping clips
• Dissolve fades
• Changing the speed of the clips (speeding up or slowing
down the clips)
This made it difficult for me to enhance my editing skills, by
different effects and manipulating the colours. However, it
allowed me to focus on rhythmic editing and ensure that I
chose movement with the camera in the clip selection.
4. Adobe Premiere Pro CS6
This was a real improvement in comparison to Serif Movie Plus X5, as it
had many effects and more precise changes to ensure that I make the
best quality video, linking to my genre. Some of the effects I used
were:
• Colour coding (brightness/contrast/saturation).
• A blur effect (POV shots of artist).
• Layering (Creating the disoriented ‘boozy’ atmosphere).
• Cutting/cropping clips.
• Change of speed.
All of these effects were crucial in me creating an effective music
video, suited to the correct audience and genre of the track. Also, from
the knowledge from the preliminary task, it helped me create rhythmic
editing integrated in the music video.
5. Watching clips to see the right clip to add to
my video, then add it to the selection of
clips by dragging and dropping the file onto
Adobe Premiere CS6 .

7. Adobe Photoshop CS6
• Adobe Photoshop was relatively had to use at the
start, but as I gathered more help and
information it soon became easier to use. I used
Photoshop to edit my digipak and website
images.
• Similarly to Premiere Pro, Photoshop gave me a
wide range of effects to use, in order to
manipulate images to get the perfect images for
my artist. Therefore, this software was crucial in
aiding the link to the target audience.
