OPSEC and PERSEC applies to text, pictures and videos. Use this guide to help you make the right decision: To post or not to post. Keep in mind that there are many photo and video editors available.

OPSEC and PERSEC do not only apply to text. ANYTHING you share in public
should be shared responsibly: with OPSEC and PERSEC in mind. That includes
pictures and videos.
What may look like a harmless selfie, could provide valuable information to an
adversary.
Think before you post: How much information are you making available to the public?
Your location, military installation, branch, last name, rank and MOS?
You can use photo-editing software to blur certain parts of your pictures or videos.
Consider cropping the picture.
Before you post:
• Review each photo you publish or share from unofficial channels.
Where was it taken? What equipment is in the background?
Does it reveal details about your mission or job that should not be publicized?
• Don’t post anything that could be misconstrued or used for propaganda purposes.
A good rule of thumb is to look at your picture without your caption or explanation
and consider if it could be re-captioned to reflect poorly on coalition forces.
• Avoid images that show significant landmarks near their base of operations, and
black out last names and unit affiliations.
• Remove metadata.
• Do not tag the location.
