7. Future direction: creating DFCs
• Integrating DFC principles with the current age friendly
initiatives
• Resources to support the inclusion of the views and voices of
people living with dementia in their community
• Building community understanding of dementia through
dementia friends initiative
• Working with schools to raise awareness in younger people
about dementia
• Collaborations with local community organizations to provide
education on dementia in order to support continued
involvement of people with dementia in community activities

• Promoting the message of timely diagnosis and
treatment through appropriate professional bodies and
primary health care professionals
• Meetings with policy makers, business organizations,
consumer groups, service agencies
• Identify the critical partnerships and establish

• Explore opportunities to strengthen the importance of
creating DFCs
