and God comes to your rescue when someone else is
praying for you.
 Remember to talk passionately about others and humbly
about self.
 Constant and consistent communication is a must for

 Personal Branding is not a substitute for quality, but a tool to
communicate your quality as a person-your knowledge, skills and
attitude (KSA).
 A successful personal brand also demands complete commitment to
your profession. In simple words, “If there is a will, you will, if there is
half-will, you never will.”
 Every time something goes wrong, look within, give people a benefit
of doubt and stay focused on the positive side of people.
 Your friends/followers/connections must stay in love with you and
your core values to support you in your journey. You can continue to
offer value as a brand, only if your passion is deep and inexhaustible.
 Personal Branding is not about creating a larger than life image; it is
about aspiring to be as beautiful and large as life is.

 Personal branding improves the probability of the CXO
becoming a CEO.
 The CXOs of Marketing and Finance have an edge over other
functions in the race to become CEO, as promoters tend to be
biased towards them (because one function brings money and
the other saves money).
 CXOs heading the HR, Information, Operations and other
functions may naturally be left behind in this tough race.

 Many westerners are joining Indian organizations due to
increase in MNCs and global work environment.
 Since westerners are using personal branding often, Indians
must also get familiar with personal branding to compete
successfully at a level playing field, with western colleagues.

 Easy availability of global manpower including

 Many MNCs in USA are training their sales force to do personal
branding as it increases the sales revenues and the
salesperson’s standing in the market.
 MNCs do not oppose the personal branding efforts of their
employees and can be even supportive.
 Employees must also balance individual and organizational
interests in such cases. For example mentioning the company
website first and personal website below (on Linkedin profile) is
a healthy practice.

 Decreased job security due to increase in mergers, acquisitions
and layoffs
 To make oneself more secure and less vulnerable in such a
scenario, personal branding is a useful tool.

 One often hears in IT industry that a person who does not
change a job in 3 years is not capable and is not getting another
job.

 Having a strong personal brand increases your negotiating
power in the interview.
