portrays the confident attitude the magazine
has towards its regular readership.
Text: The text is bold and classic again
sticking to the signature house style of the
magazine.
House Style: The colours of Q magazine are
kept a constant and result in the contents
page being easily recognizable to a regular
reader.
Language: “100 Greatest Albums Ever”- Q
magazine is again giving their opinion but
giving it as facts. Q magazine gives its
readers all the answers they are looking for
when it comes to important, „vital‟
information.

Image: One of the most important and
influential people in the world used on the
contents page, shows the high status of the
magazine. It shows how it pays attention to
important affairs as well.
Text: The V for Vibe behind Barrack
Obama represents how he represents the
magazine, Vibe magazine is important and
with high status just like he is.
Language: not the entire contents of the
magazine is given. Vibe magazine is
confident the reader will look through the
magazine themselves. The reader knows
there are quality articles within Vibe
magazine . Only two headings are given;
“features” and “fashion”, they are clear on
who their target audience are and what
they like to read about.
House Style: the splitting up of the word
contents is in every magazine. This is
easily recognized by the reader and means
that a reader can recognize Vibe magazine
from just the contents page.
3. CONTENTS PAGE ANALYSIS Text: a clear traditional font is used to show
the classic style of the publication and be
easily recognized by its trusted readership. A
bold, clear font is used for the word
“contents” and the colours are kept to the
house style of the magazine, this is easily
recognized as a contents page from Rolling
Stones Magazine, with red being an
important colour, bold like the rest of the
magazine, keeping the consistency. An italic
font is used for the page numbers to
demonstrate the magazines modern side
whilst keeping to its traditional roots. Whilst
they conform to what is expected of them,
they portray their modern, fresh style as
well.
Language: “National affairs” – report on
important news. They are in touch with the
entire nation and have essential information.
This is another factor which boosts the status
of the magazine.
Image: The images are laid out on the left of
the page which keeps the style simple and
somewhat traditional. They do not need to
resort to large pictures of well known stars,
they have a devoted readership whom have
a variety of interests.
