I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Andrew K. Bressette in support of his
application for any position he desires. I have known Andrew since coaching him in Little
League baseball beginning at approximately 12 years of age. Even at that young age, Andrew’s
determination and willingness to put in extra effort in practice to succeed were quite evident.
After completing his undergraduate studies, Andrew was hired to work in our busy private
urology practice here in Westerly, Rhode Island. His responsibilities have included office
reception and scheduling duties, but chiefly he has served as the clinical lab technician. His
duties in this role include the processing of urine specimens and preparing slides for cytology
review by our in-house pathologist, phlebotomy and preparing blood specimens for the Tosoh
machine for PSA and testosterone testing. He runs and maintains this equipment and has had to
troubleshoot many problems since we instituted this office service.
Andrew had no phlebotomy experience prior to joining our practice and frankly I was somewhat
skeptical regarding someone without prior experience taking on this challenge. Andrew has
shown a quiet confidence in taking on this and several other challenging new tasks. He has been
personable with patients who are often apprehensive with the phlebotomy process. Andrew has
a reassuring manner, which puts patients at ease. Certainly some patients are difficult draws.
Since joining our office staff, Andrew has been an outstanding team player demonstrating the
ability to work well with a diverse group of fellow employees. We recently implemented an
electronic health computer system and Andrew has been quite helpful at finding our way through
this challenging endeavor.
In summary, Andrew is a motivated, talented and compassionate individual who I think would
make an outstanding candidate for any program or organization. I strongly recommend him for
acceptance.
