2. What is PMAY?
1. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana(PMAY) is launched in June,2015 by our
Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide housing for all by 2022.
2. Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, it is proposed to build 2 crore
houses for urban poor including Economically Weaker Sections and Low
Income Groups in urban and rural areas by the year 2022 through a
financial assistance of 2 trillion from central government.₹
3. Till now, 2.24 lakh homes were constructed under PMAY for urban poor
under the old and new housing programmes during the last two year.

3. PMAY Eligibility Criteria
PMAY can be applied by two category of people: ‘Slum Dwellers’ and ‘Benefit
under other 3 components’.
PMAY Eligibility Criteria:

EWS (Economically Weaker Section) - People who earn an annual income
less than Rs. 3 lakh come under this category.
●
LIG ( Low Income Group) - People who have an annual household income
ranging between Rs. 3 lakh to Rs. 6 lakh.
●
MIG 1( Middle Income Group 1) - People who have an annual income
below Rs. 12 lakh.

4. PMAY Eligibility Criteria
●
MIG 2 ( Middle Income Group 2) - People who have an annual household
income ranging between Rs. 12 lakh to Rs. 18 lakh.
●
Minorities - People from minority groups SC/ST/OBC fall under this
category. These people need to provide relevant caste and income
certificates.
●
Women - Women belonging to EWS/LIG group fall under this category.

5. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Apply Online
PMAY can be applied in the official website pmaymis.gov.in by slum dwellers and
people under benefit under other 3 components.
Steps to follow to apply PMAY online:

Log on to the Pradhan MAntri Awas Yojana official website.
●
Choose ‘Slum Dwellers’ or ‘Benefit under other 3 components’ under citizen
assessment as per your eligibility.
●
Enter your aadhar card number and other required fields.
●
Type the captcha code and submit it.

6. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Apply Online

Centres).
