Take any two numbers that sum to one. Square the larger and add the smaller. Square the smaller and add the larger. Which do you expect will be larger? Solution let the numbers be x and 1-x so two terms are x+(1-x)2=x2-x+1 and x2+(1-x) = x2-x+1 [ sum of square of second term and first and then sum of square of first term and second term] So both the terms are equal.
