Doors with side lights present significant challenges for security. The primary reason is that there is no stud to help secure the Jamb and
Hinge Shields. Our solution uses multiple pieces to secure the door to the jamb and the jamb to the rough frame of the house. Our sets
come designed to fit side light doors with jambs that are 3/4”, 1” and 1-1/2” thick. Combo sets come complete with Ultra Door Shields*.
The inherent weakness of many side light door structures makes it impossible for any side light door product to earn our Platinum Pro-

Double Side Light
Doors with two side lights are among the most difficult to secure since there is no stud on either side of the door. In
securing these doors we knew that we had to accomplish three things. First, secure the lock area of the jamb and
door, as we had with the original Door Jamb Armor. Since there was no stud to secure the Jamb Shield, we have
driven long screws back into the jamb. Second, we had to secure the top and bottom of the jamb, because most side
light doors are secured with small nails (the entire door may fall into your house if it were kicked). Third, we had to
secure the hinges. The result is what we believe to be the most effective way to secure a double side light door.

ProtectionDJA Sets for Thick Jambs
While standard Door Jamb Armor sets will work on most doors, we have developed solutions for the doors that are more difficult to
secure. Some older homes (built before 1950) have jambs that are thicker than the standard 3/4 jambs that are found on most doors.
Adjust-A-Jamb
For doors with jambs that are more than 3/4 thick. The Adjust-A-Jamb adjusts to fit jambs from 3/4 to 1-1/4 thick and provides the same protection
as Door Jamb Armor. This set was designed for doors with multiple deadbolts (or privacy locks) or for customers who are uncertain about their lock
spacing. The Adjust-A-Jamb combo sets come standard with Ultra Door Shields. The Adjust-A-Jamb earns our Platinum Protection designation.

11. Double Doors
Double doors are among the most difficult to secure because there is no easy way to secure the center section of the door. Our system secures the
top and bottom of the door along with the door locks and the hinges. The Double Door set comes with one Jamb Shield to secure the top of the door, a
NightLock to secure the bottom of the door, four (4) hinge shields and two (2) Ultra door shields. The Double Door solution works best on doors that are
not the primary entry point since the NightLock cannot be applied once you leave your home. The Double Door application earns our Gold Protection
designation because of the inherent weakness of most double doors.

While Door Jamb Armor is the most effective way to secure a door, some customers require a simpler solution. We developed EZ Armor
in response to calls from customers asking for a product to provide similar protection that is easier to install. Like Door Jamb Armor,
EZ Armor reinforces the jamb, hinge and lock areas on your door. However, EZ Armor pieces are L-shaped and do not wrap around the
jamb, which means that the pieces are not quite as strong as Door Jamb Armor but are much easier to install. The EZ Armor Combo set
also comes with smaller Door Shields that can be installed without removing the locks. EZ Armor has been tested and receives our Gold
Protection designation because it will provide you with protection that is superior to anything on the market, except for Door Jamb Armor.
If we could not trust EZ Armor to protect our families, we would not trust it to protect yours.

The EZ Armor Combo Set is second only to Door Jamb Armor in its ability to help prevent kick-ins. The set comes with an EZ Armor

The most recent addition to the Armor Concepts family of products is Armor
Latch. Once the front door is secured, sliding glass doors are an inviting
target. A broom stick in the track will not prevent the door from being lifted
out of the track. Armor Latch helps prevent prying and also serves as a child
safety lock for sliding glass doors. Armor Latch mounts to the face of your
existing door and can be installed in about 15 minutes. The finished product
is both effective and attractive.

For those who want to repair a damaged door jamb or reinforce their jamb as quickly and inexpensively as possible. FIX-A-JAMB is
simply the easiest way possible to repair and reinforce a broken door frame. Unlike the original FIX-A-JAMB pieces, these pieces are “L”
shaped and do not wrap the jamb so there is no need to cut any nails. We made the easiest and least expensive solution easier, stronger
and less expensive. All pieces are powder coated white and will leave you with a clean, finished look. While FIX-A-JAMB will make your
jamb stronger, it only receives our Silver Protection designation because other parts on your door will break if kicked.
Interior FIX-A-JAMB II
The second generation Interior FIX-A-JAMB makes fixing an interior (1-3/8) door jamb easier than ever. In about 10 minutes you can
now repair the jamb that was broken because the kids were fighting or because someone locked themselves in the bathroom. This
piece does not receive any protection designation because, while this will make your jamb stronger, most 1-3/8 doors are hollow so a
strong kick will usually split the door.

Interior FIX-A-JAMB II Multi
For Interior (1-3/8) doors with a deadbolt, the Interior FIX-A-JAMB Multi is the easiest way to repair kick in damage. This product is
great for dorm or suite rooms where deadbolts have been added for privacy. Again, this is not a security product, simply the easi-
est way to repair a bedroom or bathroom door jamb that has been damaged. This piece does not receive any protection designation
because, while this will make your jamb stronger, most 1-3/8 doors are hollow so a strong kick will usually split the door.
The Interior FIX-A-JAMB Multi piece is a 24-inch long “L”- shaped piece that will work on just about any interior door jamb and is
designed to fit locks that are spaced from 4 to 15-inches apart.
Exterior FIX-A-JAMB II
The second generation Exterior FIX-A-JAMB takes quick and inexpensive to another level.With this new piece, cutting nails during installation
is no longer necessary and yet the “L”- shaped design fully covers any damage to give you the clean, finished look that our customers
have come to expect. These pieces are made of 18 gauge steel, are 40-inches long and are secured using 7 3-1/2-Inch screws so they
can also be used to reinforce a door jamb. If you have 15 minutes and a screwdriver, you can repair and reinforce a damaged jamb.
The back leg of the FIX-A-JAMB is 3/4 long, which allows it to cover more extensive damage. While FIX-A-JAMB will make your jamb
stronger, it only receives our Silver Protection designation because other parts on your door will break if kicked.
The Exterior FIX-A-JAMB piece is 40 inches long and will fit any exterior door with locks that are spaced from 4 to 21 inches apart.

Our original FIX-A-JAMB products will still be available for situations where a jamb may be severely damaged or have a large piece missing.
The wrapping design of these pieces means that they can function properly with minimal support from the original door jamb. Both
pieces are powder coated white and will leave you with a clean, finished look. The piece can also be painted to match your jamb color.

Exterior FIX-A-JAMB

Base DJA Set
Base Door Jamb Armor Sets are an effective way to repair and help prevent kick-in damage. Each Base DJA Set comes
with one (1) Jamb Shield and two (2) Hinge Shields. While base sets are very effective for repairing and securing a door,
we strongly recommend purchasing combo sets, which also include a Door Shield, which will help prevent the door from
splitting when kicked. All pieces are made of galvanized steel and are powder coated so they can be painted. Base sets

Multi-Family Combo sets are an effective way to repair and help prevent kick-in damage. Each Multi-Family Combo comes

repairing and securing a door, we strongly recommend purchasing combo sets, which also include two (2) Hinge Shields,

We have made Hinge Shields available for customers that have purchased competitive products, only to
realize that their hinges are now exposed. Without jamb protection, Hinge Shields are not very effective.
However, once the jamb has been reinforced, hinge protection becomes essential if you are attempting to
prevent a kick-in. Each Hinge shield is sold individually and comes with 5, 3-1/2 screws. Hinge Shields

Jamb Shields®
Replacement Jamb Shields can be used to repair a damaged jamb or to reinforce an existing or new jamb.We
strongly recommend purchasing a combo or base Door Jamb Armor set if you are trying to prevent kick-ins.
Door Jamb Armor sets include parts that will reinforce the lock area and hinges, which will break when a
door is kicked. Jamb Shields come with 8, 3-1/2 screws. Replacement Jamb Shields only receive our Silver
Protection designation because testing has shown that the lock area on the door and/or the hinges will split
without the use of door and hinge protection.
We have been very reluctant to sell our Jamb Shields separately because we know that reinforcing the jamb alone means that the door
or the hinges will break when the door is kicked. While we strive to give customers what they want, we always want to be certain that
customers know exactly what they are getting.
Before Armor Concepts, no one thought about reinforcing the hinges. “Competitive” products claim that adding screws will provide
adequate protection. Smart customers know otherwise, while others have learned the hard way.We began selling individual hinge shields
because of countless requests from customers that had purchased another product only to realize that they were not really secure.
Remember, we never thought about the hinges until intruders began kicking ours in.

21. Door Jamb Armor – Individual Components
Door Shields
Once the door jamb has been reinforced, the door slab becomes the weakest part of the door and will split when the door is kicked.
Alone, these pieces should be used only to cover-up damage on an existing door (without jamb reinforcement they are relatively useless
as a security device). Once the jamb is reinforced, they are an extremely important part of our overall system.
Unlike other door protectors, our Door Shields are made of galvanized steel and come with durable, powder coating, that looks great and
enables you to paint them to match the color of any door. The white pieces are difficult to see in the pictures because they are difficult to
see from a distance on the door. Door Shields alone do not improve security and therefore do not receive any Protection designation.

Measurements
How to gather the dimensions
necessary to determine which
model of Door Jamb Armor™ will
meet your specific application.
Door thickness: This measurement represents the thickness of the door slab
between the exterior and the interior surfaces. The current Door Shield™ components are
made for doors that measure 1-3/4 inches in thickness. Doors measuring 1-3/8 inches
are generally interior doors.
Lock spacing: This measurement represents the spacing between the locking
hardware. It should be taken by measuring from the mid-point of the upper lock bolt to
the mid-point (center) of the lower lock bolt. This measurement should be 5-1/2 inches
for standard Door Jamb Armor™ consideration and from 4 to 21 inches distance from
the edge of the door to the center of the lock boltfor the universal application.
Lock back-set: This measurement represents the distance from the edge of
the door to the center of the lock bolt. This should be taken by measuring from the
edge of the door slab to the center of the lock cylinder. This measurement should
either be 2-3/8 inches or 2-3/4 inches in order for the Door Shield™ component to be
used for your application.
Interior jamb width: This measurement represents the space between the
interior edge of the door jamb to the door sealing surface (door stop). When taking this
measurement it is most important that you measure behind the weather stripping to
the point where it seats into the jamb. This measurement should be at least 2 inches. If
this measurement is considerably more or less than this Door Jamb Armor™ may not
work for your application.
Hinge length: This measurement represents the height of the hinge bracket.
Ideally this measurement should be around 4-1/2 inches. If it is greater than 5 inches,
the current Hinge Shields™ will not work for your application.
Jamb thickness: This measurement represents the thickness of the interior
jamb edge. To take this measurement a section of the vertical trim molding may need
to be removed. You can also get this measurement through the hole in the strike plate.
This measurement should be approximately 3/4-inch. If it is considerably more or less
than this, you may need to consider EZ Armor or Adjust-A-Jamb.
Side light jamb thickness: All measurements for a side light door are the
same as for a standard door, except for the jamb thickness. This is a measurement of
the jamb thickness between the door and side light. To get this measurement, measure
the width of the raised area between the door and side light. This will likely be 1 or 1.5
inches. For jamb thickness between 1 and 1.5 inches, the 1-inch side light set will work.

23. Home resident who installed EZ Armor
after a break-in – Nashville, TN
Forty-three years in this house and we’d never had a
problem until this year. While we were at church, someone
kicked in the back door and stole my wife’s mother's
wedding ring, her grandmother's wedding ring and gifts from
our grandson who died three years ago. The computers and
cash he took can be replaced. The priceless family items
