The document discusses challenges in integrating information and communication technology (ICT) into teaching and learning in Malaysian schools, identifying issues such as inadequate teacher training, a lack of access to technology for students at home, and insufficient facilities and time for hands-on learning using ICT resources in schools. It proposes that the government and teachers should improve ICT infrastructure in schools, provide more training for teachers on using educational technologies, and employ multimedia tools to make lessons more engaging for students.

Ict application have become an important part of teaching and learning. The Ministry of
education has invested a huge effort in terms of finding and training to equip teachers
2. and students with ICT skills. In your opinion what are the issues and challenges in
integrating ICT in teaching and learning in our Malaysian schools.
Give your idea to this issues not more than 500 words.
Since the early 1970’s, the Malaysian government has introduced various initiatives to
facilitate the greater adoption of ICT to improve capabilities in every field including education..
Nowadays in the new era of technology, ICT (Information and Communication Technology) is
one of the most important things in our life. Compare to the other country in the world, Malaysia
is one of the lowest country that excellent in the use of technology especially ICT. ICT is an
umbrella term that includes all technologies for the manipulation and communication of
information. Because of that, ICT applications have become an important part of teaching and
learning. The Ministry of Education has invested a huge effort in terms of funding and training to
equip teachers and students with ICT skills.
From my opinion the issues and challenging in integrating ICT in teaching and learning
in our Malaysian schools is teacher training. Some of them does not had the formal learning in
the use of ICT. They can be little phobic about teaching using ICT components. This is because
they do not have enough knowledge to handle it. Sometimes, they are not interested because
the ICT component may cause a problems during the learning process occur. This problem can
make the learning process become difficult and wasting time. Besides, the absence of access
to the necessary technology at the homes of students also include as the challenge in
integrating the ICT.
Other than that student also have problem because they are not enough access to the
computer hardware because the facilities of technology is not enough for the whole student
because in learning the ICT, more practical is needed compare to the theories. They have to
practice using the technologies. The student also have not enough time in school schedule for
projects that involving ICT because they have to focus on the other important subject. Students
also do not have access to the necessary technology at home especially the student that live in
village or the student from the poor family.
In order to compete with other country, there are certain issues that we are not alert on
such as in school. Nowadays, students are excellent in using ICT in education. However, the
student are comes from different background and different sources of economy. Not all students
can effort to buy the technology such as laptop compared to other students who have high living
3. standards. Thus, the students will force their parents to buy them laptop. It will give a pressure
on the parents to fulfill their children needs. If they can’t buy it, then the children will do
unexpected actions such as stealing, threatening and others. Thus, it will increase the school’s
problem.
There are challenges that happen in integrating the ICT in Malaysia school. Because of
that, it is too hard for us to make sure in 2020 our mission become true. The challenge that we
found is faced by the teacher itself where they are lack of knowledge about the ways to
integrate ICT to enhance the curriculum. As we know the curriculum is one of the factors that
can help in enhancing the ICT in school.
As a conclusion, in integrating the ICT in Malaysian school, we have to give the full effort
to avoid the challenges that we already faced . The effective skills also can be make to make
sure in 2020, our mission accomplish.

5. The government and others should be responsible to improve the educational ICT
developments among students. They have to build more suitable place to learning ICT. The
place provided should have the best facilities and components. The facilities must be in good
conditions to make sure students and teachers can used it practically. The infrastructure such
as electricity, transport and basic services also should be very important. It can encourage
students and other people to be interested using ICT in their daily life.
Teachers also have to play their roles by attend the course that can develop their
professional in using ICT components. By attending this course, teachers can improve their
skills in handling ICT products during teaching. Teachers can use the facilities that have been
provided to school to make the process of learning more interactive and effective. The
government had provided many ICT components such as laptop, projectors, and discs to help
teachers make the process of learning more interesting.
Teachers also can improve their skills to use the latest software to enhance students in
learning ICT. For example, by using software likes Adobe Photoshop teacher can attract
students to learn their subjects via graphical and animations. It can prevent students feel bored
by only listening to the lectures. Students also can gain more knowledge and understand when
they feel excited with help of graphic in learning that will stimulate their brain.
