The film : “ La vita è Bella”
A good film that I saw and I liked so much is “La vita è Bella”. It was directed
by Roberto Benigni, and starts Roberto Benigni and Nicolletta Broschi. The film
was set in Italia in 1939 and won an Oscar in 1998 for best foreign film.
In the first part, the film is comic and the history is narrated by Guido, a jew
immigrant, that want to conquer the love of Dora. He is dreamer and determinated
in his decisions. Every time he puts himself in embarrassed situations, but he can
solve them in shiny way.
The other part of the film is a drama, in the ambient of the Second World
War; Guido is conducted to the Concentration Camp with his son Giosué and his
wife, who goes volunteers.
Guido uses the imagination to save the life of the son. He invents a history
so that his son believes that everything is only a game.
I recomend “La vita è Bella”. The interpretation of Benigni is excellent. The
scene has strong and alive colors in the beginning characterizing the plot, as in the
end that scene became darker, demonstrating the pain and the suffering caused by
the conflict.
