2. Divine Attributes of the Holy Spirit
OMNISCIENT - All knowing. God knows
everything possible
OMNIPOTENT - All powerful. The
Almighty One that spoke the universe into
existence
OMNIPRESENT - Everywhere at once
ETERNAL – Without beginning and end
HOLY – Pure, unblemished
4. Created For Fellowship with God
“And they heard the sound of the LORD God
walking in the garden in the cool of the
day…” – Gen 3:8a
5. Fellowship Broken
“…and Adam and his wife hid themselves
from the presence of the LORD God
among the trees of the garden.” – Gen 3:8b
6. God’s Plan
“The thief does not come except to steal,
and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that
they may have life, and that they may
have it more abundantly. I am the good
shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life
for the sheep” – John 10:10,11 (NKJV)
7. Fellowship Restored
“I will not leave you orphans; I will come to
you…But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom
the Father will send in My name, He will
teach you all things, and bring to your
remembrance all things that I said to you. –
John 14:18, 26 (NKJV)
8. The answer:
A: Without the Holy Spirit, we would
have the perfect example of holiness in
Jesus Christ, but no way to overcome
sin and be transformed into His
likeness.
9. No longer in the flesh
But you are not in the flesh but in the
Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in
you….
– Ro 8:9 (NKJV)
10. Roles of the Godhead
Father – Plans, directs, sends
Son – Accomplishes God’s plan
Holy Spirit – Glorifies and empowers
11. The Holy Spirit Glorifies Jesus
“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has
come, He will guide you into all truth; for
He will not speak on His own authority,
but whatever He hears He will speak;
and He will tell you things to come. He will
glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine
and declare it to you.” – John 16:13,14
12. He is our Divine Helper
“And I will pray the Father, and He will give
you another Helper, that He may abide
with you forever— the Spirit of truth,
whom the world cannot receive, because it
neither sees Him nor knows Him…”
