Leah has just turned 18 and celebrated her birthday with family. She receives an email offering her a job in England, which excites her. Leah flies overseas and is greeted by Mr. Herington, who owns the hotel she will work at. At the hotel, Leah meets Will, Mr. Herington's son, and feels an instant connection. Will shows Leah to her room, where she is amazed by the spacious accommodations and excited to start her new adventure abroad.
1. PAGE 1.
SCENE 1:
FADE IN:
EXT. SEMI-DETACHHED HOUSE- DAY
The sun shines brightly over the white painted house with
its full of green garden and busily parked drive.
DISSOLVE TOO:
INT. SEMI-DETATCHED HOUSE- LIVING ROOM- DAY
The house is filled with many people; it is decorated
with balloons and banners for an 18th birthday. The light
from the outside sun, shines through the window onto many
joyful faces, happy music is playing throughout the
background.
LEAH, recently turned 18 year old girl with big dreams,
enters the living, much to the delight of her family
members. She makes her way through the crowd and sits in
front of her birthday cake, anticipatedly waiting to blow
out her candles.
*Crowd begin to sing the song of Happy Birthday loudly*
LEAH slowly blows out her birthday candles and the crowd
cheer.
MUM
How does it feel to be 18 young Lady? I still remember
when you were a tiny baby in my arms, rocking you to
sleep! You’re not so little anymore.
LEAH
I just feel as if I am now ready to go off and live my
own adventures and make something of my life mum, *HUGS
MUM* don’t think of this as a bad thing me growing older,
think of it as a good thing and of your daughter going
out and making her mark on the world!
MUM
When did you get so grown up? I am so proud of the
wonderful young lady that you have become.
LEAH
I love you mum.
The two characters hug and the lights within the scene
begin to fade out leaving just a black space.

SCENE 2:
FADE IN:
EXT. SEMI DETATCHED HOUSE - EVENING
The sun is beginning to set within the clear blue sky,
shining its last rays of light over the houses below.
DISSOLVE TOO:
INT. SEM-DETACHED HOUSE- LEAHS BEDROOM- NIGHT
The scene fades through the area of LEAH’s bedroom, to
the back of her head, sitting at her desk, looking over
at the brightly lit computer screen.
Lighting will be low-key throughout the background and
high key of the computer and layout of the character.
LEAH is sitting browsing through her computer.
*The ding of a bell sounds through the room*
Leah quickly moves up her head in alert; she spins around
in her desk chair and screams.
The sound of running footsteps fills the background and
then enters MUM.
MUM
LEAH, are you okay? What’s happened? Are you hurt?
LEAH
MUM I’m fine, I’m fine! I just received an email back
from the England job that I applied for a while back and
I’ve been offered the job! I’m so excited!
MUM
You sacred me I thought you were hurt! That’s wonderful
news darling congratulations! I am so proud of you! They
are going to love you!
LEAH
Thank you MUM, I’m so nervous but yet so excited at the
same time! It’s finally time for me to start my
adventure.

MUM
You are going to be amazing LEAH, no need to be nervous.
They will love you!
The two characters in the scene smile with delight, as
they look into each other eyes, the lighting within the
scene fades out leaving a black space, announcing the end
of scene 2.
Scene 3:
FADE IN:
EXT: AIRPLANE–SKY-EVENING
The sun is beginning to set over the fast flying airplane
that is souring through the cloudy blue sky, giving off a
somewhat yellow glow through the small windows of the
Plane.
DISSOLVE TOO:
INT: AIRPLANE- ROW OF SEATS- EVENING
The scene fades through the set of an airplane, through
the different rows until it reaches the character LEAH’S
row, the camera stays in shot of LEAH looking out of the
plane window out at the growing dark cloudy sky with the
beautiful last rays of sun beaming through.
The lighting within this scene will be low key within the
majority of the scene and then will high key in the areas
of the plane window and all of the light that it brings
through.
LEAH is day dreamingly staring out of the window, out
into the clouds.
A slim built, brown haired lady enters the scene, wearing
a flight attendants uniform and having a somewhat
seriousness expression upon her face. This character is
called FLIGHT ATTENDANT.
FLIGHT ATTENDANT
Excuse me miss, may I ask you to please sit back in your
seat and place your seatbelt on, as we are now preparing
to land, Thank you.

LEAH:
*Nervously paced*
Sorry, yes of course.
LEAH slowly sits back in her chair and begins to do her
seatbelt up; she has a scared but excited expression
about her face as she comes to a realisation that she is
about to start her new life In England.
The scene ends with the lighting of the background slowly
fading to black and the loud sound of the plane engines
roaring to give the illusion of a landing plane.
SCENE 4:
FADE IN:
EXT: HOTEL BULIDING - ENGLAND – MORNING
The scene will slowly fade in from the roof of the
building and down towards the car of which LEAH occupies,
the shot will then follow the car within the scene until
it reaches the entrance of the hotel building, where a
member of staff will open the car door for LEAH, she will
get out and look up towards the building, mesmerized.
INT: HOTEL ENTRANCE – MORNING
LEAH will be mesmerizingly staring up towards the hotel
building, slightly unaware of her surroundings.
A slim built, mature looking male enters the scene, very
smartly dressed and presented. This character is called
Mr Henry Herington (HENRY).
HENRY
You must be LEAH, welcome to the famous Herington Hotel,
please to finally meet you.
MR HERINGTON held out his hand for LEAH to shake and a
smiling LEAH slowly walked over and politely shook
HENRY’s HAND.
LEAH
Yes I am indeed, its so lovely to finally meet you Mr
Herington, may I just say that this building is one
incredibly beautiful architectural structure.

HENRY
Why thank you young lady, this building has been in my
family for generations, passed down through the many
members of the Herington family. I am very proud to call
this home and I hope you come to feel as if it is yours
too.
LEAH:
I look forward to it sir, thank you again for having me.
HENRY
You’re very welcome, now please follow me into the lobby
where we will get you all checked in and allocated a
room.
LEAH and HENRY walk towards the entrance of the hotel and
make their way into the lobby.
INT- HOTEL LOBBY – HOTEL - MORNING
This second part of the scene is the background and
location of the hotel lobby, there is a reception desk,
many comfortable seating and a set of lifts within this
scene.
The scene consists of many different distinct characters
that are playing staff members and guests; they surround
the area of the hotel, giving it the illusion of a fully
functioning and busy hotel lobby.
LEAH AND HENRY ENTER THE LOBBY, LEAH gives off a
mesmerised look as she takes in the beautiful décor that
surrounds the inside of the hotel. HENRY hurries off
towards the desk and mutters to one of the many
receptionists behind the desk.
HENRY
LEAH, come over here my darling, I need you to sign some
paperwork and sort out your room situation.
LEAH
Of course Mr Herington.
LEAH and HENRY slowly walk towards the desk area, LEAH
fills out her forms and is finally given her room keys.

HENRY
LEAH, there is someone I would like you to meet, my son.
William come over here quickly.
A tall, slim built character enters the scene. He has
brown curly locks, sharp green eyes and a young
intriguing face. This character is called William
Herington (WILL), the son of HENRY.
WILL slowly walks over, his head looking down as he walks
towards his father. As he reaches his father, he moves
his head up and looks toward LEAH, their eyes meet and
they are both taken aback.
HENRY
William don’t be so rude, please introduce yourself to
this young lady.
An embarrassed colouring of red fills WILLS face.
WILL
Sorry, I’m WILL, nice to meet you.
WILL holds out his hand towards LEAH, LEAH happily shakes
it.
LEAH:
Lovely to meet you Will, I’m LEAH.
LEAH AND WILL stare glaringly into one another’s eyes
with fascination until HENRY interrupts.
HENRY
*To WILL* this is LEAH, our new bar and waiting staff
member. She’s come all the way over from America, she’s
had a long flight and needs some rest, can you please
show her to her room. LEAH please follow my son and he
will show you to your room.
WILL
*Nervously toned* Follow me.
WILL picks up LEAH’S bags from the floor and begins to
walk.
LEAH
Oh don’t worry about my bags, there is no need to carry
them I am perfectly capable.

WILL
Don’t be silly, you have had a long journey, the least I
can do is carry your bags for you.
LEAH
Thank you.
LEAH and WILL make their way towards the lift area, where
they enter the lift and as the doors begin to shut the
lighting begins to fade, announcing the end of the scene.
SCENE 5:
FADE IN:
EXT-COUNTRYSIDE-HOTEL-EVENING
The scene will slowly fade in from the outside of the
hotel, through a window, which is located on the side of
the hotel, Then finally through to the inside of the
hotel building.
INT: HOTEL-CORRIDOR-EVENING
The scene will now move to the location of the hotel
corridor, the corridor is surrounded by beautiful décor
and is filled with many majestic looking doors; both
characters then enter the scene.
WILL
It’s just down here on the left.
LEAH and WILL continue to walk down the corridor past the
many doors that fill the area until they come to a set of
glass doors. Both characters enter through these glass
doors and come to a big square area with a set of four
doors on each side of the walls.
WILL
This is your one here LEAH
LEAH is now stood in front of a big intriguing brown
door, WILL unlocks the door which reveals a small set of
stairs. Both WILL and LEAH head up the set of stairs,
This shot follows the back of both of the characters as
they make their way up the set of stairs, to find a big
spacious room, which is filled with elegant décor and
furniture.
8. LEAH
Wow.
WILL places LEAH’S bags on the floor and stands up tall
with an awkward smiling expression about his face.
WILL
Its pretty cool isn’t it.
LEAH
It’s seriously cool! Thank you for carrying my bag and
showing me to my room.
WILL
You’re welcome. I’ll leave you to get some rest.
LEAH
Bye WILL
WILL then hurryingly leaves the scene by walking back
down the stairs and out of the door. The character LEAH
is standing in the centre of the room, looking around
with a mesmerised expression about her face. LEAH then
heavily sits down on the deluxe sofa that is placed in
the centre of the room. The scene then begins to slowly
fade out, announcing the end of scene 5.
