About     •  bdNOG  is  a  forum  of  computer  professionals   working  in  several  ICT  based  organizaJon   •  Open  to  professionals  from  all  sector  i.e.   Telco,  ISP,  Bank,  Garments  etc  who  operate   computer  network  infrastructure   •  Not  for  profit  interest  operaJonal  community   in  Bangladesh  willing  to  learn  and  share  work   experiences

Objec*ve   •  Inclusive  working  pracJce  among  engineers     •  Encourage  to  conduct  Internet  operaJonal   research  locally   •  Build  a  plaPorm  to  share  operaJonal  work   experience  by  arranging  regular  conferences       •  Give  opportunity  to  local  speakers  to  speak  about   technology  in  public  and  promote  local  talent  to   the  global  Internet  community   •  Raise  a  fellowships  fund  to  assist  local  engineers/ professionals  to  aSend  internaJonal  key   conference  i.e.  IETF,  APRICOT,  APNIC  etc.

Ac*vi*es   •  Organize  bdNOG  Conference  twice  a  year   –  One  InternaJonal  (In  Dhaka)   –  One  domesJc  (Outside  Dhaka)   •  OperaJonal  research  will  be  conducted  under  following  areas:     –  Prefix  AggregaJon     –  Traffic  engineering  advocacy     –  Peering  advocacy     –  Network  security  BCP  advocacy   –  MulJhoming  BCP  advocacy   •  Maintain  a  mailing-­‐list  to  facilitate  discussion  of  local  technical  issues   •  Be  the  first  hand  informaJon  source  to  the  publicaJon  and  media  sector   in  Bangladesh  on  Internet  operaJonal  technology  and  related  issues   •  Stakeholder  coordinaJon  to  connect  the  Internet  community  in   Bangladesh  to  the  right  people/scienJst  who  are  developing  the  Internet   globally

How  We  Do  That?   •  1st  Year  Target  (Since  1st  October)     •  Facilitate  discussion  of  local  technical  issues   –  nog@bdnog.org     –  Protected,  only  subscribed  and  validated  users  can  post   and  receive  e-­‐mail.  Current  subscriber  560.  TargeJng   close  to  1000  in  one  year.  JNOG  around  6000+   •  172  AS  operaJng  in  BD.  Includes  Telco,  ISP,  Bank,   University  etc   •  Will  bring  minimum  2  high  level  engineer  from  each  AS  into   this  group   •  Arrange  our  first  bdNOG  conference  “bdNOG1  &  APNIC   Regional  MeeJng”
