6. Most of our technological advances have been
made in the past fifty years.
As a result of these advances that have been
made, the world is in the worst state it has
ever been in.
From global warming to destroying the land
we live on the earth is essentially falling apart.
7. Causes of the earths destruction
• Deforestation
• Extracting crude oil
• Pollution and dumping
8. Deforestation
We cut down trees to mill the lumber and turn
it into paper and use the wood for building
materials. By doing this we are destroying
habitats and eco systems. Animals are dying
and even going extinct because of it. We are
also destroying forests and untouched land.
Trees are a main source of oxygen and they
are being ripped out of the ground.
9. Extracting crude oil
We rely on oil so much, it is used to make our
vehicles run as well as the machinery which is
used to make anything and everything. Oil
companies drill deep into the earth to extract this
precious material that we need but in turn is
destroying the environment as well as the oceans
around the world. Oil spills are a major concern
because they are very hard to clean up and
cause a lot of damage.
10. Pollution and Dumping
Pollution and Dumping is a main cause of the
earths destruction. There are over 60 million
cars produced each year in the world. The
toxic emissions coming out of these cars
effects the earths atmosphere in a major way.
Even though we have emission tests and fuel
efficient cars, there is still toxins produced.
Also factories produce a large amount of toxic
emissions which contribute to destroy the o-
zone layer which is protecting us from the
suns harmful rays.
11. Dumping is also a bad pollutant which is
destroying the earth. We produce way too
much garbage and it is harmful to the
atmosphere. We can keep dumping
throwing garbage out but sooner or later
there is going to be nowhere to dispose of
our garbage. There is only so much room
on the earth, we cannot make the earth
grow or generate more space. So what is
going to happen when we run out?
12. There are a lot of people in the world trying to
prevent all of these things, but there are more
people contributing to the problem than there
is people trying to fix it. This is going to cause
major problems in the future, even more than it
already is. We need to stop implementing
quick fixes and stop the problems at their
sources.
