1. Identifying genre
Objectives:

• What do they help to convey?
A good film title should convey: Genre, give an indication of the story line.
A good film title should, be/do: Refer to key character, be memorable (alliteration, short, long
include pun- intertextuality a well-known phrase).
A title should not give too much of the plot away, it shouldn’t be too long and boring.
1. For the title of this film they have used all lower case letters, which gives the effect of a
child’s hand writing also by the letters being spaced well apart. This is effective as it makes
the reader interested in the title as it creates curiosity.
2. The background of this poster is black which portrays a eerie atmosphere the white writing
on this poster also allows the writing to stand out and entice the viewer.
3. There is a contrast of typed and hand written wording which allows the title which is hand
written to stand out more, the size of the handwritten title is quite large but there is
different sizing of the letters so therefore it is unconventional.
4. The font shape is childlike and looks negative with the white lines scratched in as, or that it is
a photo printed on.
5. The tag line is in uppercase typed writing which follows on to the title which is in lower case .
6. It links to the narrative as the seven words shown describe the most important thing in the
film.
