Case Study
PROBLEM
Edgbaston Cricket Stadium is located in a valley,
adjacent to a river and is built upon clay. These
factors contribute to exceptionally poor
drainage both on the main cricket field and also on
the practice areas even though the Cricket Club
spent approximately $1million only three years
ago on a conventional land drainage system.
During the summer cricket season of 2012,
Edgbaston lost 6 internationally televised
matches because of a waterlogged pitch and
subsequently lost significant revenue
because of this.
SOLUTION
May 14th
EGRP™ system by Parjana was installed
beginning May 2013 on the main practice area
only one month before the biggest Cricket
tournament in the world during 2013, namely
the ICC Trophy. The practice area had NO
drainage system and is surrounded by
parking lot. There was 1/2 inch of rain in a heavy
shower on May 30th, which, previously would
have flooded the area and left it unplay able for
days.
However, in less than two hours the ground
was completely dry and solid under foot and
practice resumed whilst a similar practice area
on the other side of the stadium remained
out of action.
TESTIMONIAL
“Extremely pleased with how the drainage
system is working”
