3. What is a rule?
Definition:
Rules allow you to automatically perform actions on mentions, both in the future and
historically, based on searches and filters that you define.
A rule can be used for different actions: sentiment, workflow, tag, category
To keep in mind:
There is a limit to what can be done automatically.

4. Tag vs Category
● Technically a rule pointing to a tag or a category will do the same. Put into a box
mentions if they match the search terms and filters.
● Differences:
● Tags are more flexible
● Having too much tags can be confusing and take more time to select for charts
● Before the setup, you need to define what you want to compare and how you want
to structure your rules

● Rules can be setup from the Mentions component or using the Rules option under
the Tools section
● Write down your search terms and apply the filters needed, choose the action, give
a name and save!
● If a category or subcategory is not available for selection, you can create it on the
fly
● Rules can be used in a dashboard to:
● Compare them to each others via charts
