2. 1. SYSTEM OF PLAY
1.1 AWAY :
- Away from home , they play defensive 4-2-3-1, where one of the
wings is actually destructive player (Song). Also ,the left back has no
offensive duties, he is actually a central back transformed in left back
for blocking the opponent on the wings.
-The wings do not help on the defensive, although Song plays as a
winger, he has no characteristics to fulfill this assignment. On the other
hand, Eto'o never covers the left back .
-The double pivot never attacks forward, they stay in front of the
defence for protection (sometimes there is a big distance between
them : vulnerable)
-They leave the opponent's stoppers to play and the pressing is made
on the opponent's double pivot, for creating a possible counter-attack.
-The right back often participate in the offensive organization ,
especially for crossing.
3.
4. 1.2 HOME :
- Аt home , they play 4-3-3 with frequent transformations in 4-2-3-1.
The polyvalent players give them this opportunity.
- The wings are very fast and dominant in 1 on 1 duels, but they don't
help the wing backs in defensive organization.
- The pivot (median), often goes down to the line of the stoppers for
organizing the play from behind. (If the opponent plays with two
strikers,he remains to cover the stoppers).
- They leave opponent's stoppers to play and mark opponent's
playmaker/s (for possibly offensive transition).
- They prefer the possession of the ball and waiting for the opponent
to make a mistake.
- When they make a transition from 4-3-3 in 4-2-3-1, the
''trequartista'' often makes a vertical movements or stand between
the opponent's lines.
- The wing-back do not participate in the offensive organization.
- Excellent technicians, but sometimes tend to exaggerate.
5.
6.
7. 2. INDIVIDUAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE
PLAYERS:
GOALKEEPER : ITANDJE
- Agile, but not very high. Good reflexes and good feet. Often ,
he search the striker with a long balls in Zone 3..
CENTRAL BACKS : CHEDJOU и NKOULOU
-Strong physically, good in the air duels and direct opponent
marking.
-Not too fast, lost of concentration when there is not a direct
opponent for marking.
8. LEFT WING –BACK : EKOTTO or NOUNKEU
-Not participating in the offensive organization, he plays as
lateral stopper. Sometimes, crossing for the striker or the wing
in Zone 3. His fundamental duties are the defensive situations
1vs1 against the opponent's wing.
RIGHT WING-BACK : NYOM or MBIA
-Strong physically, but also fast. Often participate in the
offensive organization and offers crosses and long balls for his
teammates. He can also play like a central back.
PIVOT (MEDIAN): SONG
-Strong physically. Conductor of the game (playmaker). Loss of
concentration when he is under pressure.
9. CENTRAL MIDFIELDERS: ENON and MAKOUN
-Technicians, but very anarchic, vulnerable loss of
concentration, and the ball too(eventual offensive transition of
the opponent). In 4-2-3-1, they switch often the positions
between them for occupying the position of ''trequartista''.
RIGHT WINGER: MOUKANDJO
-Fast dribbler with great acceleration. Almost always attacks
the lateral sides (never central) for crossing. Rarely returns to
cover the wing-back.
LEFT WINGER: ЕТО’О
-Never attacks the lateral sides for crossing. He starts from the
left wing ,moving to the central area ( via dribbling) for
shooting with the right feet. From the striker ,he expects the
second balls. Never goes back for covering the wing-back.
10. STRIKER : WEBO
-Physically dominant and in aerial duels. Protecting the ball
very well,he opens a space for the wingers. If he moves on the
wings, do not follow him - it's a trap !! - With such movement
he wants to open the opponent's defense.
SUBSTITUTION :
MATIP : A substitution for the pivot. Organize the
play from the back, covers the stoppers, can play like a stopper.
MOTING : Fast and physically strong winger,
can play like a striker.
IDRISSOU : classic striker, a substitution for Webo.
N'GUEMO : polyvalent winger , good with both
feet. Dribbler and fast.
11. 3. WEAK DEFENSIVE SIDES :

the goalkeeper. The others 7 players execute a man-
marking. One remains in attack for eventual offensive
transition.

42.
43. 8.1.2 FREE-KICKS : mix marking
8.1.2.A) LATERAL :
1.1 If the lateral free kick is very distant, they
execute a zonal marking (horizontal line). One or
two players in the barrier.
1.2 If the lateral free kick is a ''short corner'', they
execute a man marking. Two players in the barrier.

8.2.1 CORNERS : images + videos
-Song or Ekotto is the corner-taker. They are attacking
with 4-5 players depending on the situation.
One attacks the first post, others two centrally in front of
the opponent's goalkeeper, the fourth attacks the second
post. In the case of fifth player, he attacks from behind.
-Two others stand out from 16m-box for recover the
second balls or blockade eventual opponent offensive
transition.
-Dominant in AIR duels!

-Eto'o or Song is the freekick-taker. They attack with
five players.

50. 8.2.3 THROW INS : images
8.2.3.A) If the Throw In is in Zone 1, they pass the ball
at the beginning of Zone 3 for the striker or the
winger.
8.2.3.B) If the Throw In is in Zone 2/3 ,they search the
striker. In certain situations they put strong balls in
the 16m-box for the striker
53. Suggestions
They are preparing for the World Cup in Brazil ,
maximally concentrated. Tactically , they will show up
with 4-3-3, with transformations during the game in
4-2-3-1.
I'm pretty sure that they will be very patience during
the constructions of the play.
Their anarchic midfield triangle and the anti-
defensive duties of the wingers, can help us for
winning this game. One player more in the central
zone in Zone 2 and one offensive right wing-back can
be fundamental for winning this game.
1) With one more player in central zone in Zone 2, we
can dominate/control their central midfielders ( 3 vs
2).
2) Our right wing-back can take advantage of the anti-
defensive duties of Eto'o , creating situations 2 vs 1
with our right striker(winger) against their left wing-
back.
54. 3) Man marking and pressure on their Pivot (Song),
can permit us to create a fast offensive transition.
4) Their striker ( Webo) will be
controlled/dominated by ours central stoppers
(1vs2). In this case our Pivot must take care of
Eto'o's movements(centrally), also covering the
stoppers when they go out of their zone, and
covering the right zone ,when our right wing-back
is attacking.
5) We can't permit them to create a counter
attacks (our mistakes) , because 75% they will
score.
6) We must take advantage of their poor Defensive
Corner organization.
7) Song is very vulnerable on provocations.
8) If the striker (Webo) moves to the flanks ,don't
follow him. Is a trap ! - he wants to open our
defensive line.
55. 9) If Mom plays like a right wing-back, he will leave a
lot empty space behind him, because of the offensive
duties.
10) Eto'o frequently attacks the second balls passed
from Webo.
11) If they lose, will enter another classic striker , and
their fundamental and unique idea will be crossing in
the 16m-box (air -domination with the two physically
strong strikers) and 1vs1 situations on the flanks (fast
wingers) : offensive 4-4-2 (4-2-4-2).
