2. What is a Kip-Up?
• An acrobatic move used to transition from a sitting
position to a standing position in one fluid
movement.
• Commonly used in martial arts, acro dance,
breakdancing, gymnastics, parkour etc.

3. Step 1
• Lie on your back with
your knees tucked to
your chest.
4. Step 2
• Keep hands open, and
hold them right over
your shoulders. You
should now look like a
dog playing dead.
5. Step 3
• Roll up until you are on
your upper
back/shoulder blades.
• Don’t let your knees
pass your head.
6. Step 4
• Place your palms on
the ground under your
shoulders.
• Kick up with your feet
while pushing off the
ground with your
hands.
7. Step 5
• Kick out and up. The
force from your feet
and arms should be
propelling you forward.
• Swing your feet
underneath your body.
8. Step 6
• Using your abs, swing
upper body forward.
• Your head with follow if
you get the rest of your
body over your hips.
