The Truth:
•The animals overpopulation ( cats and dogs) has reached an all time high.
Waco is a community that needs your help. With thousands of stray
animals being innocently killed on Waco streets and with a crowded animal
shelter with not enough resources, the animal overpopulation in Waco
needs to be controlled.
•Approximately 5 million to 7 million animals are put in shelters every year,
and approximately 3 million to 4 million of those animals, are euthanized.
•According to The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Texas
about 4.6 million animals are euthanized in animal shelters annually
•The statistics for stray dogs and cats, is at such a constant rise that it is
impossible to determine how many stray dogs and cats are living today.
( estimates for cats alone range up to 70 million)
•With the overpopulation and consistency of unwanted animals on the
streets, one very big solution is to spay and neuter all pets to prevent
unwanted litters.

as to fight.

Opposing Spaying and Neutering

Spaying and Neutering prevents breeding and making money.
Spaying and Neutering prevents children from watching the
miracles of the birthing process.

Reflection
After conducting both interviews and doing a lot of
research, my views have stayed firm in believing spaying
and neutering animals is the absolute right thing to do.
It is a great way to protect the lives of our current pets
and to protect the lives of innocent animals who are born
into a life of distress due to unwanted or accidental
births.

How you can help!
Volunteer at The Waco Humane Society today! They are always in
need of volunteers and since it’s currently so overpopulated they
need as much help caring for the animals and keeping the facility
clean.
Encourage friends and family members to spay and neuter their
pets at four months of age! Pets can get pregnant as early as four
months!
Promote awareness to these statistics and research more to share
the importance of spaying and neutering to control overpopulation.
Write a letter to veterinary clinics asking them to become partners
with the Waco Humane Society to create spaying and neutering
vouchers that help those that who can not pay for the procedures.
Most importantly : SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS!
