Please read the recent press release:
Saturday 24 May was an occasion of pride
and tribute as the Sheraton Hotel hosted
the first-ever BVIS Graduation Ceremony.
With the graduates being supported
by their families, friends and teachers a
truly festive occasion was guaranteed.
In his opening address, BVIS Principal,
Mr Michael Deveney, congratulated the
students and noted that as the school’s first-ever graduates
they will have a special place in the BVIS history. He also
observed that international schools pledge to prepare their
students for the university and country of their choice then
work hard to make sure that dreams are realised. A look
at the roll of honour below shows a variety of destinations
and reaffirms the BVIS commitment to academic excellence.
Guest speaker and CEO of the BIS Group of Schools, Mr
Shaun Williams, recognised this key moment in families’
lives as they adjust to life without their son or daughter,
and in students’ lives as they begin a new life overseas. His
message was one of encouragement in the knowledge that
BVIS has prepared its students well and given them personal
confidence and the independence needed to succeed in the
wider world. Speaking on behalf of the students, Vuong Kim
Loan thanked her teachers and her friends and described
her mission in choosing Food Nutrition at Newcastle
University, UK as being one of a determination to return to
Vietnam to make an impact on health and lifestyle choices
for the Vietnamese people. Other graduates are destined for
universities in the USA, Australia, Switzerland, Singapore
and Japan. The evening finished with a song from the
graduating class and photocalls, the highlight of which was
the traditional flinging of the graduation caps into the air, a
proud moment for one and all.
Lễ tốt nghiệp 2014 của Trường BVIS
Thứ Bảy, 24 tháng 5 vừa qua đã đánh dấu một cột mốc quan
trọng và đáng tự hào của trường BVIS. Lễ tốt nghiệp đầu
tiên của Trường đã diễn ra trong không khí rộn ràng, hân
hoan với sự góp mặt của các gia đình, bạn bè và giáo viên
tại khách sạn Sheraton. Mở đầu chương trình, thầy Michael
Deveney – Hiệu trưởng sáng lập của trường BVIS – đã gửi
lời chúc mừng đến lứa tốt nghiệp đầu tiên cùng với lời
nhắn nhủ là các em sẽ luôn chiếm một vị trí đặc biệt trong
trang sử phát triển của trường BVIS. Thầy cũng chia sẻ về
trách nhiệm của các trường quốc tế trong việc giúp học
sinh chuẩn bị hành trang cho trường đại học và đất nước
mà mình hướng tới, cũng như cùng các em nỗ lực để biến
giấc mơ thành hiện thực. Bảng danh dự dưới đây liệt kê rất
nhiều điểm đến khác nhau và một lần nữa khẳng định hoài
bão của Trường trong việc mang đến một chương trình giáo
dục toàn diện. Khách mời của chương trình, thầy Shaun
Williams – Tổng giám đốc Điều hành - Hệ thống các trường
Quốc tế BIS – đã chia sẻ suy nghĩ về thời khắc quan trọng
này, khi các gia đình phải làm quen với cuộc sống thiếu
vắng con mình, trong lúc các em chuẩn bị bắt đầu cuộc sống
ở một đất nước mới. Thông điệp của thầy là lời động viên
và ghi nhận nỗ lực của trường BVIS trong việc mang đến
cho các em sự tự tin và độc lập cần có để vươn đến thành
công ở bất cứ nơi nào trên thế giới. Thay mặt cho lứa tốt
nghiệp, em Vương Kim Loan đã gửi lời cảm ơn đến thầy cô,
bạn bè và chia sẻ về quyết tâm chọn học ngành Dinh dưỡng
ở Đại học Newcastle , Anh quốc để có thể mang đến những
thay đổi về sức khỏe và lối sống cho người Việt Nam. Bài
hát của các học sinh tốt nghiệp và phần chụp ảnh lưu niệm
đã khép lại buổi lễ, trong đó giây phút đáng nhớ nhất chính
là khoảnh khắc tung mũ tốt nghiệp truyền thống – một
khoảnh khắc đáng tự hào của tất cả các em.

Vietnamese Perspective
In today’s assembly we learned about
the final part of the BVIS Mission
Statement – Vietnamese Perspective.
Overthelast3years,wehavegradually
introduced each key word or phrase
to the children in the Primary School,
through stories, songs and our special
animal symbols. Many of your children have earned
stickers as they shown “perseverance”, “caring”, “respect”,
“integrity” or the skills of “enquiry” or “reflection”. On
International Day and Green Day we learned more about
our world as the children learned to be “Global Citizens”.
Today I told the
children a Vietnamese
traditional tale about
the Buffalo God
and how he came
to Earth to help
people. Our talented

traditional song about
the water buffalo and
our special animal
was introduced to
help remind us of our
Vietnamese Perspective in school.

những câu chuyện, bài hát và linh vật đặc biệt. Đã có nhiều
học sinh được thưởng huy hiệu hình dán khi thể hiện tinh
thần “kiên trì”, “chu đáo”, “tôn trọng”, “trung thực”, “học
hỏi” và “suy ngẫm”. Thông qua Ngày Quốc tế và Ngày
Môi Trường, các học sinh đã có cơ hội khám phá về thế
giới xung quanh và học cách trở thành những “Công dân
Toàn cầu”.
Hôm nay, tôi đã kể cho các em nghe sự tích về Ngưu Thần
và lý do ông xuống trần gian để giúp đỡ người dân. Đội
ngũ trợ giảng tài năng của Trường đã biểu diễn một bài hát
dân gian về con trâu để giới thiệu linh vật đặc biệt này và
nhắc nhở tất cả chúng ta nhớ về Bản sắc dân tộc Việt Nam.

Fundinotots Fundinotots is now open at BVIS. There are two sessions, from 8.00 am to
10.00 am on Tuesday and Thursday each week, in the Early Learning Centre
in the Early Years Foundation Stage Department. The sessions are open to
children aged 0 to 36 months, accompanied by an adult. For more information
please see the school website or call into the Primary Office at BVIS.
Chương trình Fundinotots đã được mở tại Trường BVIS. Lớp học diễn ra vào
thứ Ba và thứ Năm hàng tuần, từ 8:00 đến 10:00 tại Phòng chơi Phức hợp ở

U11 BOYS WIN SISAC FOOTBALL
TOURNAMENT
Congratulations to the Under 11 Boys’
Football Team this week who won BVIS’
first ever football tournament. It is great
to hear such a glittering report from
their coach and that they were great
representatives of the school. I expect this
will not be the last we hear of this team.
Well done to all!
A full match report below from their coach, Mr Gavin:
On Tuesday the BVIS U11 boys’ football team went to SSIS
to participate in the yearly SISAC football tournament. This
is the first year BVIS has entered a team at the tournament
and following a fantastic show of teamwork, perseverance,
and sportsmanship, BVIS won all four games played without
conceding a single goal. A truly incredible achievement!
On an extremely hot and tiring day, all 10 boys played
significant roles to ensure BVIS took the trophy home. They
worked hard as a team, encouraging each other to keep going
to achieve success. Four players shared the 9 goals scored
between them but, just as important, were the performances
of the players defending our goal, which lead to our perfect
defensive record.
As the coach, I was extremely proud of the team’s performance,
behaviour and attitude throughout the day. All 10 children
were a credit to the school and I am delighted that they were
able to win the school’s first major football tournament.
Results: BVIS 1-0 CIS, BVIS 5-0 SSIS, BVIS 2-0 SIS, BVIS 1-0 AIS

ĐỘI TUYỂN BÓNG ĐÁ NAM U11 GIÀNH CHỨC VÔ ĐỊCH
GIẢI SISAC
Xin chúc mừng đội tuyển bóng đá nam U11 đã giành chức vô
địch đầu tiên về cho trường BVIS. Thật vui khi được nghe kể
về thành tích xuất sắc của các em – những đại diện đáng tự hào
của Trường. Tôi tin chắc cả đội sẽ không dừng lại ở đây. Giỏi
lắm các em!
Dưới đây là tường thuật chi tiết của Thầy Gavin, huấn luyện
viên của đội:
Thứ Ba tuần này, đội tuyển bóng đá nam U11 của trường BVIS
đã đến trường SSIS để tham dự giải bóng đá thường niên
SISAC. Đây là năm đầu tiên trường BVIS tham gia tranh tài và
sau một màn trình diễn mang đậm tính đồng đội, lòng kiên trì
và tinh thần thể thao, đội BVIS đã xuất sắc giành chiến thắng
trong cả bốn trận đấu mà mình tham gia và không để lọt lưới
bàn nào. Một thành tích tuyệt vời!
Vượt qua thời tiết nắng nóng và một ngày dài thi đấu, 10 cầu
thủ của đội đã có đóng góp lớn trong việc mang về chức vô
địch cho trường BVIS. Cả đội đã chơi hết sức mình và không
ngừng động viên nhau tiến lên để giành chiến thắng. Bốn cầu
thủ của đội đã ghi tổng cộng 9 bàn thắng, nhưng quan trọng
không kém chính là màn trình diễn của các hậu vệ đã giúp bảo
vệ chiến thắng với kết quả phòng thủ tuyệt đối.
Là huấn luyện viên của đội, tôi vô cùng tự hào trước màn trình
diễn, cách ứng xử và thái độ của đội xuyên suốt ngày thi đấu.
Các em là niềm tự hào của Trường và tôi rất vui khi đội có thể
mang về chiến thắng đầu tiên cho Trường ở một giải đấu lớn.
Kết quả các trận đấu: BVIS 1-0 CIS, BVIS 5-0 SSIS, BVIS 2-0 SIS,
BVIS 1-0 AIS

EAL Update - Year 3+4
Thông tin từ Khoa Tăng cường tiếng Anh – Lớp 3+4
Year 3
This half term, Year 3 have finished their topic of ‘Persuasive
Writing’. They are now learning about ‘Myths & Legends’
from many different countries and the similarities and
differences between them. The students have identified the
key features of Myths & Legends and will use their learning
to create their own, entertaining and exciting adventures.
Students in EAL withdrawal have been using English-
Vietnamese dictionaries to build a ‘Myths Dictionary’ where
they can store any new vocabulary they may encounter again.
This unit will also lend itself nicely to revising adjective order
(the terrifying, hairy monster) and past irregular verbs (go
– went, fight – fought). You can check the Year 3 blog for an
online EAL activity you can do with your child to help them
at home.

Giữa học kỳ này, lớp 3 đã hoàn tất chủ đề “Văn bản Thuyết
phục”. Hiện tại, các em đang tìm hiểu về “Thần thoại &
Truyền thuyết” ở nhiều nước khác nhau trên thế giới và khám
phá điểm tương đồng cũng như khác biệt giữa hai thể loại
văn học trên. Khi đã phân biệt được các đặc điểm của “Thần
thoại & Truyền thuyết”, học sinh sẽ vận dụng những gì đã
học để sáng tác truyện phiêu lưu kỳ thú của riêng mình.
Các học sinh trong lớp Hỗ trợ tăng cường đang dùng từ điển
Anh-Việt để xây dựng một quyển từ điển Thần thoại – nơi các
em có thể ghi chép những từ vựng mới có khả năng sẽ gặp
lại lần nữa. Đây là cơ hội để các em ôn lại trật tự của tính từ
(ví dụ: quái vật đáng sợ, mình đầy lông lá) và động từ bất quy
tắc (go/đi – went/đã đi, fight/chiến đấu – fought/đã chiến đấu).
Quý vị có thể truy cập trang nhật ký trực tuyến của lớp 3 để
tham khảo một hoạt động giúp phát triển kỹ năng tiếng Anh
mà Quý vị có thể thực hiện cùng con tại nhà.
Year 4
Year 4 have finished their most recent Literacy topic,
‘Imaginary Worlds’. They all planned and wrote some very
imaginative stories and worked especially hard at using
descriptive language.
This week they’ve moved on to writing ‘Persuasive Letters’.
The students are learning how to write an opening and
closing of a persuasive letter by using strong “bossy” words,
using emotive language to help persuade readers, as well as
using rhetorical questions. They will be trying to persuade
their parents to take them on holidays and Co Rosy will
be receiving some letters as well. We’re looking forward to
seeing how persuasive they are!
In recent weeks, some of the children have been working
very hard on reading comprehension and pronunciation. The
reading has been very difficult but they have persevered and
made loads of progress. Well done!

Các học sinh lớp 4 đã hoàn thành chủ đề Đọc Viết mới nhất
của mình – Những thế giới trong trí tưởng tượng. Tất cả các
em đã phác thảo và viết nên những câu chuyện đầy sáng tạo,
vận dụng tối đa vốn ngôn ngữ miêu tả đã học.
Tuần này, các em đã bắt đầu học viết Thư thuyết phục. Các
học sinh đang học cách vận dụng từ ngữ mạnh mẽ để viết
đoạn mở đầu và kết thúc của một bức thư thuyết phục, cách
sử dụng ngôn ngữ khơi gợi cảm xúc để thuyết phục người
đọc cũng như cách đặt câu hỏi tu từ. Các em sẽ tìm cách
thuyết phục bố mẹ dẫn mình đi du lịch và Cô Rosy cũng sẽ
nhận được một số lá thư. Chúng tôi rất mong chờ được xem
độ thuyết phục trong thư của các em!
Vài tuần gần đây, các học sinh đang tập trung rèn luyện kỹ
năng đọc hiểu và phát âm. Dù bài đọc có độ khó cao nhưng
tất cả các em đã không ngừng cố gắng và tiến bộ rất nhanh.
Giỏi lắm các em!

I am pleased to report that we are reaching
the end of the external examination series for
Year 11, 12 and 13. Year 11 have their final
examination on Monday. I am particularly
pleased with the way the examinations
have been conducted and the students
have played their part in ensuring the
examination process has been a success.
Please be reminded that each student has
been issued with confidential username and password to
access their individual results in August, please keep this safe.
Next week we embark on our end of year examinations for
Years 7 to 10. I know the students have been working very hard
in the last few weeks to prepare themselves for the forthcoming
tests. In assembly this week I outlined the examination process
and reminded students of the procedures and rules regarding
the conduct of examinations in the school. I wish all students
the very best of luck next week.
Tôi rất vui mừng được thông báo là các học sinh lớp 11, 12 và
13 đang bước vào giai đoạn cuối của kỳ thi. Môn thi cuối cùng
của lớp 11 sẽ diễn ra vào thứ Hai. Tôi đặc biệt hài lòng với công
tác tổ chức cuộc thi và các em học sinh đã có đóng góp không
nhỏ trong việc đảm bảo kỳ thi diễn ra suôn sẻ. Vui lòng lưu ý
là các em đã được phát tên đăng nhập và mật khẩu để tra cứu
kết quả thi của mình vào tháng 8. Thông tin này phải được giữ
kỹ cho đến ngày công bố kết quả.
Tuần tới, Trường sẽ tổ chức kỳ thi cuối kỳ cho các học sinh từ
lớp 7 đến lớp 10. Các học sinh đang ráo riết ôn tập để chuẩn bị
cho các môn thi sắp tới. Trong buổi sinh hoạt tuần này, tôi đã
tóm tắt tiến trình diễn ra cuộc thi cũng như nhắc nhở các em về
những thủ tục và quy chế phải tuân thủ trong suốt kỳ thi. Xin
chúc tất cả các em thật nhiều may mắn trong tuần tới.

Notice to Parents
Due to examinations, all clubs and extra-curricular
activities will be suspended next week and will not be in
operation. Clubs and extra-curricular activities will begin
again on Monday 09 June.
The final day for clubs and extra-curricular activities will
be Friday 13 June.

From Thụy Nguyễn 10B and the Healthy Lifestyles Club

At the beginning of May, our Year 10 group was really happy
to find out that the “Healthy Lifestyle Club “ was officially put
into action. The club is guided by Ms Angus and includes seven
members of Year 10. Healthy Lifestyles Club first task was to try
to change the food in the Sunken Garden into healthier energy
food which will help the students have a balanced diet. After
many meetings that were held throughout many weeks and
discussions and tasting sessions with Ms Huong from Black Cat,
we finally came up with some healthy additions to the menu
that are tempting enough to compete with other unhealthy
ones. We have flapjacks, oatmeal cookies, fruit yogurt... all of
which are made with especially healthy ingredients that can
provide the students with enough energy for the rest of the
school day. Unhealthy food, such as sugary drinks and chips,
is not totally replaced but our group will try to come up with
many more ideas for the cafeteria to demolish all of the food
that is bad for students’ health. We will all be working really
hard to improve the students’ health.

động. Câu lạc bộ do Cô Angus phụ trách với 7 thành viên đến
từ lớp 10. Hoạt động

cách thay đổi thức ăn ở
Sunken Garden thành
các lựa chọn tốt cho sức
khỏe, giúp học sinh duy
trì một chế độ ăn cân
bằng. Sau rất nhiều buổi
họp mặt, trao đổi và
nếm thử thức ăn cùng
Cô Hương ở Black Cat, chúng tôi đã thống nhất bổ sung thêm
một số lựa chọn lành mạnh nhưng vẫn đủ hấp dẫn để cạnh
tranh với các món ăn khác. Các món được bổ sung như bánh
nướng ngũ cốc, bánh quy yến mạch, sữa chua trái cây… đều
được làm từ những nguyên liệu tốt cho sức khỏe và có thể cung
cấp đủ năng lượng cho các em cho một ngày học tập. Các thức
ăn kém lành mạnh như thức uống có đường và khoai tây chiên
sẽ không bị thay thế hoàn toàn nhưng câu lạc bộ sẽ cố gắng
nghĩ ra nhiều ý tưởng để giúp căn tin loại bỏ dần những thức ăn
không tốt cho sức khỏe. Tất cả các thành viên sẽ nỗ lực hết sức
mình để nâng cao sức khỏe cho học sinh toàn trường. Hãy chờ
đợi những cập nhật và thông tin mới của chúng tôi!

Hickinbottom, the students spent some time in PSHE
researching some of the issues they thought were
important and wrote questions for discussion. The format
saw Mr Williams and Mr Reid joined by Minh Anh (9I),
Magda (9B) and Nguyet (9V) who were posed some very
tricky questions from the audience. Mr Morris chaired
the even to ensure the panellist were kept on their toes
and discussions ranged from some serious issues such
as smoking in public places and racism in sport to the
panellists’ thoughts on who would win the World Cup
and if the Loch Ness Monster really exists. There was
some very thought-provoking discussions, and excellent
points made by the three student panellists. I am sure
BVIS will see more such events in the future.
Các học sinh lớp 9 vừa có dịp tham gia “Phiên Tranh
Luận” đầu tiên của trường BVIS. Được tổ chức bởi
Thầy Reid cùng với sự hỗ trợ của Thầy Williams và Cô
Hickinbottom, đây là một hoạt động dựa trên chương
trình tranh luận chính trị có tên gọi tương tự ở Anh quốc.
Trong giờ GDCD, các học sinh đã dành thời gian nghiên
cứu về các vấn đề đáng quan tâm và viết câu hỏi thảo luận.
Trong phiên tranh luận, Thầy Williams và Thầy Reid cùng
Minh Anh (9I), Magda (9B) và Nguyệt (9V) đã nhận được
những câu hỏi hóc búa từ phía khán giả. Thầy Morris đã
đứng ra chủ trì và đảm bảo trật tự cho buổi tranh luận.
Nhóm tranh luận đã chạm đến nhiều vấn đề đa dạng, từ
hút thuốc ở nơi công cộng, nạn kỳ thị chủng tộc trong thể
thao đến dự đoán về đội vô địch World Cup và liệu quái
vật hồ Loch Ness có thật sự tồn tại hay không. Ba học sinh
trong nhóm đã đưa ra nhiều luận điểm hay và đáng suy
ngẫm. Chắc chắn trường BVIS sẽ tiếp tục tổ chức nhiều sự
kiện tương tự trong tương lai.

Do Thanh Chau (Year 11) Crest Science Silver Award -
Chau received excellent feedback from the British Science
Association for her Crest Silver Award Project in which she
designed and compared different types of solar cooker.
The comments from the assessor included
• “Thisisanexcellentlyresearchedprojectdemonstrating
knowledge and understanding of context and a flair
for the scientific approach.”
• “This student obviously has a future in science”
• “Congratulations on a high standard Silver CREST
Award Project.”
She will receive her Silver Award Certificate at the end
of term and hopefully go on to complete her Crest Gold
Award in Year 12 and 13. Well done Chau!

nhận được nhiều lời khen ngợi từ Hiệp hội Khoa học Anh
quốc. Em đã thiết kế và so sánh nhiều loại lò sử dụng năng
lượng mặt trời. Dưới đây là một số nhận xét của hội đồng
đánh giá:

On the other hand, the hat is not very comfortableto wear. It doesn’t suit the weather in Vietnam-where it is always hot and sunny. The feather onthe cotton ball might get into your mouth, nose…and you’ll keep on sneezing “atchoo, atchoo!” Ifyou wear that woollen hat in Vietnam, you’ll sweatlike a pig and find yourself stinky, smelly, stickyand stupid for wearing that hat because no one willbe such a weirdo to wear it during a hot, sunny day.Also, you might trip over and smash your face tothe ground while walking just because the hat isway too long for you. It could block your eye viewand you’ll end up with scratches on your face. Lastbut not least, the hat is not very fashionable so youshould consider carefully before you decide to wearit outside.

Overview (Magda, Quynh Anh & Johnson)
Warm, fuzzy and you wear them every day (unless
you’re Asian). Colourful, polka-dots, we’ve seen
them all before. With its epic and unique wool it
stood out! Striped, black, grey and white (wearing
it will make you feel fabulous, if you aren’t Asian,
I mean). You can wear them on a cold winter day
but absolutely never in Asia. This sock rocks (well,
not literally but if it was… THAT WOULD BE SO
AWESOME!! J)
Description (Danny & John)
From the first sight, the fuzzy stripes with abundant pattern of black, grey
and white strike your eyes. With the best material of wool, combined with the
techniques of masters, making it into a retro, but fluffy ‘warm-keeper’ (if it
can). It’s tight so that it can provide heat and warmth to your feet. Still, it will
also help you feel snugly and comfortable. The socks are quite long so they
are capable to cover more parts of your leg, so that you can keep it discreet (if
you have anything to hide). Furthermore, with a slight scent of Chanel, it is
definitely an outstanding and astonishing pair of skiing socks. This is a true
innovation in the age of socks. Triggering a sock revolution of our age.
Good Points (Harry & Allen)
Ms Keen’s socks are full of magical contents that provide
fabulous advantages. Firstly , it is designed with advance
wool for lenient warmth in the frigid winter. Definitely, it
would create deep and good sleep for the user. Secondly,
When it is torn, you could easily fix it with some needle and
threads Also, healthy Ms Keen’s socks could be diverse with
it mundane outlook. I mean, obviously it could be made into
Christmas stockings or puppets! Even better, a defensive
weapon; for example if you are mugged by thieves just pull
out that footwear and finish him with a fatality blow, or just
use it as a cup holder. In bonus, Ms Keen’s socks have unique
passive too. The engineers that designed this have admitted
that they produced these socks with smell good enough to
highlight other famous products, for example, Chanel no.5
or OMOH. Finally, the ability to transfer ultimate knowledge
of English is undeniably undeniable(unless you don’t want
you’re A* in IGCSE)
Bad Points (Anna & Katty)
However, this pair of socks has its limit, which is you can only wear
it in winter but not other times. Imagine when you are in Vietnam
and strolling down the street with every single eyeball on you! What
will they think? (A psycho, of course!). Beside, stripes aren’t very
up-to-date because they are very old-fashioned (only for the 90s
girls, perhaps Ms Keen?). Also, this type of socks is only for skiing
which means, you’ll feel very uncomfortable when wearing super-
long socks on a casual day of work, especially when the temperature
reaches up to 37 degrees. Furthermore, please remember that this
pair of socks belongs to Ms Keen (an English genius), which suggests
a hilarious result that you only will get high marks on English tests
and exams but drop down in other subjects such as, Maths and
Vietnamese. Also, the smell of this pair of socks will haunt you
where-ever you are, especially when you’re playing Flappy bird.
Imagine a second Ms Keen (the silhouette) vaguely appears in front
of your eyes and makes your bird never pass the first column. From
this point of view, having an object from your teacher isn’t a bad idea
but it’s not good either.
In summary, the invention of Ms Keen’s pair of socks has proven
to be the remedy to all cold feet as well as sluggishness in English
lessons, approved by all scientists (non-graduated from secondary
school) worldwide. It has also been recommended by showing that
we’re super-duper smart in English it’s crucial that we wear it right
over our clothes, over our eyes and head (and common sense) 24/7.
Ms. Keen’s socks will always make us smell like Chanel perfume,
which stimulates our brain to work the best in Ms. Keen’s class and
get possibly higher grades.
Overview (Helen & Vy)
From the moment Ms. Keen gave it to us, we knew for sure
that it is a black woollen (but not so cool) hat. Why not so cool?
Because the whole thing is covered in black, black, and black. It
is made for everyone to wear, so there is only one size, but we
found out it is too long, it can cover our whole face and leave
us no light! What will the world turn out to be like if there is
only black and shadow? Plus, the purpose of using this hat is
to keep warm in cold weather, but the colour of black seems to
throw us into the hell of cold and loneliness. The only feature
that we found interesting is the fluffy top of the hat. We are not
sure about the reason of putting it on top of the hat except for
decoration. The feeling of touching and squeezing it is awesome!
However, you would not want to wear this type of hat in Ho Chi
Minh City, where the temperature reaches 40 Celsius degrees.
Description (Minh & Fire)
The pitch black hat has its main feature of a sinister-looking black, fluffy
ball on top of it. The odd length reminds me of an unused, ancient sock,
abandoned for thousands of years, eventually accumulating a fearful
amount of soot. Despite its vile appearance, the surface is surprisingly
soft. But do not be fooled, the soft surface is just a mask, hiding the true
evilness underneath. The hat in its natural habitat gives off a vibe of
loveliness due to its seemingly tiny size. Unfortunately, you might die
of shock knowing it can expand to fit a whole watermelon, swallowing
it like a malicious cobra. However, everything has a good side and a
bad side: as vicious as it is, its smell is peculiarly similar to that of a
crayon’s. On the whole, this hat, this particular one, is a one-of-a-kind
masterpiece; the appearance thereof can both frighten and allure you
at the same time.
Verdict (Jack & Mandy)
The beanie hat has a dull, black colour which makes it look original but
at the same time depressing. It’s made out of wool so it traps many dust,
hair and germs, which is unfortunate. The hat could be developed by
using other fabrics, for example cotton, then the hat won’t be too fragile
as well. For some people, the hat felt tight around their head, which
will affect your health! Another thing is, it could only be worn in cold
weather; try wearing that on a sunny day in a place like Ho Chi Minh
City! This disadvantage can be improved by using thinner fabrics. The
last improvement that should be done is the scent of the hat, which has
a strong, smelly aroma of crayons. The user should spray it with a nice
fragrance or change her/his softener so it’ll smell wonderful.
Good Points (Trung & Hai)
How warm do you feel? Very cold right? Now take the next
step by putting on this cold-proof hat. You will feel nothing
but his comfy warmness as if dining with a rich-fat, floppy,
crunchy fried turkey with your family on Christmas night.
Besides all of this, wearing a stylish hat will indeed make
you more sociable and confident while walking down the
street or talking to your friends. As a hand-held amusing
puppet, you will bring joy and delight to both children and
adults around you. You might be wandering how to make a
puppet out of a hat? It is as simple as using a little bit of your
imagination and a little bit of glue, with shiny, quirky and
child-doodled twinkly ornaments. Last but not least, as the
general environment got worse, it is our duty to recycle as
much as we possibly can. That’s why this multi-functional
hat can be used as a fancy, water-proof plant pot that will
turn your old-fashioned, tranquil garden into a dazzling
paradise of gorgeous plants.

The students on the Arsenal Football Coaching Programme
enjoyed yet another full and productive session last
Tuesday. Students learnt to improve their attacking and
defending skills through 1 v 1, 2 v 1 and 2 v 2 drills. Next
week they will have the opportunity to design their own
attacking and defending drills.
