1. I’ve created a monsterDrama, Short 5 minute film. Aj Watson

2. Plot The Film is about a girl who breaks up with her boyfriend because she thinks that she will be able to be free and have whatever she wants, but eventually ends up sad and alone. During the film, the girl meets a guy who seems to help her with her choices so that she get everything she’s ever wanted, but through many twists and turns it is revealed at the end that he is just a figment of her imagination, slowly destroying her sanity as she ends up sad and alone.

3. Style As I want this film to be about real life struggles, I want to take a “nitty gritty” approach to filming and capturing the actors emotions. I will be using steady cam shots frequently, but I will also be looking at the Mise en scene to cleverly depict the themes of the film; Love, loneliness, greed, selfishness.

4. Influences Shane Meadows style of filming is a huge influence in this production, as he recreates the struggles of real working class people brilliantly using a small budget. Sam Mendes also uses an artistic approach to American beauty with the composition of the shots and the techniques he uses which I will be drawing influence from in this film

5. Audience The intended audience of this film will be men and women aged 15-40. The reason for this wide range is because It is a film that demonstrates the struggles of real life and thus would be enjoyed by most adults. I would expect this film to be showed in an art-house cinema and film festivals at first as it going to be an artistic rather than mainstream.

6. Locations The filming will be mainly outside as I can create a better atmosphere on location; without the money to create a realistic set indoors it will be easier to film outside.

7. Actors I will be sourcing my actors from the school drama department, and I need 3 main roles. The extras that I will require will not have voice roles, they are only for the background of the shots, so I can use other people from the school or in the class.

8. USP This film is unique because it takes a real life scenario but demonstrates it artistically. Whilst still maintaining a believable storyline, the film will be very “indie” and eccentric.
