Never open an e-mail unless you know the sender. If you open an e-mail from someone you don’t know you may accidentally down load a virus and harm the computer.
Only visit web sites that I have provided for you. The sites I provide are considered safe for children. There are many sites that are deemed inappropriate for students. To avoid these you can only access the ones that I have provided.
Never download files, music, or video unless you have a teacher or parent’s permission. You can inadvertently download a virus that harms the computer or accesses your personal information.
If you would be embarrassed to have your mom or dad see what you posted, than don’t post it online.
Do not copy other people’s work. This is called plagiarism. If you want to use someone’s work, you have to state where you got it and who did the work. If you don’t want to worry about if you cited the work correctly just don’t copy it and use your own material.
Do unto others as you would have done unto you. If you would not like it said or done to you then don’t do it to anyone else. This includes cyber bully, hurting others feelings, and posting things about others with out their permission.
If you have any questions about the internet always ask a teacher or parent for help. Even though you might abide by the rules others may not, if you run into problems with others get help from an adult. If you are wondering if you are doing the right thing either ask or don’t do it.
When sending messages avoid using all capital letters it is rude and is taken as yelling. Be patient with others that are just learning, remember you had to learn once too.
