Instructional Objectives for this activity:
Differentiate results and concept of detention.
For your teamwork this week, you researched your local courts for information regarding procedures and jurisdictional issues. Please respond to each of the following:
Research local cases of corporal punishment or reported cases of abuse by teachers within your community or state and discuss your findings.
What factors led to the juvenile and teacher acting in the manner they did?
Develop a plan of action to help both the student and educator to remediate such behaviors and create a classroom that provides for both the needs of the student and educator.
How can these changes be beneficial to both the educational and justice systems?
Please remember to cite your sources with APA, with in-text citations, and at the end a separate Reference List page with summarized material from the textbook and lectures/slideshows.
The minimum expectation for class discussions is to respond directly to each prompt and respond to at least two other posts by the end of the week. Posts to which you respond can be either by a student or the instructor.
Submit one main post responding directly to the discussion prompts.
This should be a substantive response to the topic(s) in your own words, referencing what you have discovered in required reading and other learning activities.
You may use resources in addition to your textbook that support your post(s). However, cite your sources.
