2. Social Media Trends...Last Year
Last year almost every Truckee student had a
Facebook and checked daily. Later in the year
the same happened with Instagram, and most
forgot about facebook. At the end of the year
Snapchat and vine started to become popular.
Snapchat became the app to have very quickly
while vine is still working its way in.

3. Facebook
In 2013 Facebookwas the social
media site to use, and in 2014 it
dwindled out. Truckee High students
today only use facebook for making
other social media accounts and
games. Facebook was the start of all
the new social media.

4. Instagram
Instagram is a social media site for
pictures and videos. Instagram has
tried to stay in the loop by adding
and updating their app alot. For
example they enabled you to send
direct messages just after an update
that allowed you to upload videos.

5. Social Media Now
Facebook and Instagram have had their
spotlight, now it’s time Snapchat and Vine.
Snapchat was popular almost as soon as it came
out. It has been around for a while and is still
going strong. Currently, Twitter and Tumblr are
working their way into Truckee High. I think
Tumblr and Twitter will be in by the end of the
year.

6. Snapchat
Snapchat is an app that allows you to
send pictures and videos that disappear
after a certain amount of time. Snapchat
has managed to stay in the loop for a
long time. I expect it to continue to be in
for a while.

7. Vine
Vine is a social media app that allows
you to share short, usually funny videos
with yours friends and more. It is still
coming in, it is almost there.

8. Social Media in the Future
In the future, I expect Truckee High will be
into Twitter and Tumblr. The rest of the US is
obsessed with Twitter, Truckee is just a little
behind.

9. Tumblr
Tumblr is a social media site
where you post comments for the
public to read and like and
comment. I expect Tumblr to be the
next big thing in Truckee High’s
social media.

10. Twitter
Twitter is a social media app that
enables you to post almost anything. It
is the top social media app in the
country right now. For Truckee High,
Twitter will be the next big thing.
