This document provides suggestions for using mobile tools like digital cameras and tablets in religious education. It offers ideas for photo projects students can do with cameras, such as creating cards, photo stories with Mixbook, and scavenger hunts. It also discusses how to choose apps for tablets when only one is available, and reviews apps for digital storytelling, prayer, and learning about the Catholic faith. Examples of digital stories created with tools like Animoto and Prezi are included.

A "My Day" photo album provides a personalized tool for
encouraging toddler self-awareness. Let your little one take
pictures of God’s world, of what he/she loves most -- squishy
bugs, leaves, favorite foods, and his/her family. You can even
borrow the camera and take photos of him/her going to church,
going to or visiting with friends. Talk with him/her about what
he or she really enjoys in God’s world and what it means to go
to Church and be with his/her family.
13. Tell a Scripture Story
Get their creative minds working and into story writing mode. Choose
a Scripture Story. Invite them to storyboard/script 5 to 10 sections of
the story with proposed images (e.g., Good Samaritan). Have students
pose for photos (with/without costume). Take photos. Import photos
into PowerPoint or Google Docs Presentation. Add story line
above/below. Use as a PPT presentation or create a video using
Animoto. Here is an example – Parable of the Sower -
