 it all started with the
discovery of radio
waves
 electromagnetic waves
that have the capacity
to transmit music,
speech, pictures and
other data invisibly
through the air.

 Guglielmo Marconi is
considered the father of
radio transmissions
 He demonstrated radio
communications were
possible. Fascinated by
Hertz’s discovery of the
radio waves, he noticed
that it could be used for
receiving and sending
the telegraph messages,
referring to it as wireless
telegraphs.

 His earliest radio
transmissions, the
coded signals
transmitted to only a
mile far in 1896.
 Marconi then
recognized its high
potential and offered
the discovery to Italian
Government that had
turned it down.

5. Invention of The Radio
 He then got a patent
and experimented
more after moving to
England.
 In 1898, he made the
first ever public
broadcast of sports
event.
