Whisnant, Pastor/Teacher: November 29, 2009 Rivers of Joy Baptist Church, Minford, Ohio Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed (1SPMI) of the gospel, for it is (3SPAI) the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (PAPMSD), to the Jew first & also to the Greek. Romans 1:16-7 is the most life-transforming truth ever put into men’s hands. If we really understand and act in response to these truths in these two verses time and eternity is totally changed. Romans 1:1-15Paul talks about his Message and him being the Messenger of the Gospel Romans 1:16-17Paul will make this message of the Gospel fixed or definite in our minds Romans 1:18 --The rest of the book of Romans is a growth of what we see in Vs. 16 -17 1APAUL SAYS: “I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ.” 1BPaul’s life experience should have caused him to retreat from preaching the gospel. 2BToo often while we would like to have Paul’s boldness in preaching, we retreat. 2AWhy was Paul so bold? 1B“because it is the power of god unto salvation.
