Our vision is to emitting local ideas. Driven by mission to give social
impact, to inform, to be local government watchdog, to entertain, and
to give a political education for the first voter (youth people).

3. *BACKGROUND
Thinking about how to giving back for our home city, we all agree to creating local
media to pursue media literacy for people and youth generation. Nowadays,
because Indonesia use national-television-system; this region have no local
television yet.
Beside that other mass media, newspaper and radio, isn’t enough to fulfill local
people needs of information. Yet, there is no real civil society whom watching local
government, identifying local problems, and connecting local ideas. That
opportunity lead us to create Garut TV.
Garut TV is taking advantage on the growth of Internet user in Indonesia, local
Tourism euphoria, and mind-set of “Glocalisation” (go global with local culture)

5. LOGO Description*
Shape of garut.tv logo is shape of Garut region
geographically. Four radiated lines describe our
vision to emitting local ideas. As for five colors
describe this region excellences; Garut’s orange
and creativity (yellow), five mountains and
harmony (green), three rivers and peacefulness
(blue), people and nobility (purple), courage
and principle of ‘kerta raharja’ (red)
Garut.tv is name of our project, as well as
website address. Green and yellow mean
creativity in harmony.
Emitting local ideas is our vision; creating media for introducing,
promoting and advancing people, nature, and local culture.

6. *TARGET AUDIENCE Population in Garut region, 2013 =
2,8 million people. All local people
is Garut TV target audience.
Since we use online TV as pilot
project, first target audiences are
youth between 17-25 years old =
520.000 local youth people
Then secondary audience is
tourists, travelers, and guests
whom visited Garut region =
around 2 million visitor each year.
Audience characteristic; local

interest with local ideas as well.

Why we used streaming TV for 1st year? since Indonesia use national-television-
system, bureaucracy to obtain permission for broadcasting local TV is quite
complicated. To make it easy and cheap, we start-up with streaming TV.
Then for a year, we fight to gain capital, obtain broadcast permission, and
preparing best local ideas to emit.
We spread the ideas like a virus. From 10->100->1000->10000 people and so on.
