1. One Page Pitch
Title; Nocturnal.
Film Genre; Horror Thriller
Length; 125 minutes (opening 2 minutes)
Target Audience; 15-24 – Appeals to them because they can relate to the film because the
characters are around that age group.
Story synopsis; a group of girls and their gay best friend go for a weekend away at one of the
girl’s uncle’s cabin. Slowly one by one each character will disappear (get killed) except one
who will remain alive thinking that the killer has been caught. She goes on to have a family
and her children want to visit the uncles cabin but turns out, the experience which took place
when she was younger, may be relapsing…
Visual realisation; fast paced film as it skips from her teenage days to her adulthood. Similar
films include ‘The hills of eyes’ and ‘wrong turn’ and the titling ideas came from the film
‘insidious’.
How does our thriller differ and why it appeals to our target audience? Our thriller is a more
realistic and relatable idea and is directly aimed at the younger audience whereas similar
films are aimed at older age groups. Our film has a moral and educates young people about
the dangers being independent in an unsafe area. It shows the consequences of what could
happen in different/new situations.
