• The number of panthers killed on the highway
is increasing. 200 were killed in 2007.
4. Deaths
• Because male panthers are not finding enough
home range, they meet other males more
often and fight until one is killed.
5. Endangered
• Only 90 to 100 Florida panthers remain today.
• They are at extremely high risk of extinction.
7. Help for the Panthers
• The Wildlife Rehabilitation Center treats more
than 2,400 injured, sick and orphaned animals
each year.
8. The Future
Without partnerships and land
preservation, the panther will not
survive, nor will all the other animals that
depend on the same habitats.
