2. FORUM
UNDERLYING PRINCIPLE
The dawn of Information Technology elevated the library profession in
attracting valued clients and improved services.
However, Librarians and concerned individuals are now facing another
competency that is not to be ignored…the Research and Access aspects.
Being in the support system to educate clients, it is very crucial also to
learn the world of research from conceptualization, grant writing to
peer reviewed publishing and its provision of providing information
easily through online and offline. Presenting the results of research is
another concern that must be tackled to enhance and provide good
impressions to library and other professions.
Another emerging trend is Transmedia Librarianship that we could
implement in our library operation.
A Transmedia expert will
familiarize us with this technology that may result to the enhancement
of Cariana collaboration.
PURPOSES
(a) Provide background information on the essentials of research; (b)
Inform participants on publishing in a peer reviewed journal and Citation
analysis; (c) Teach participants on how to prepare and present papers in
an international congress; (d) Provide background on grant writing and
scouting grants. (d) Inform participants on the availability of free or
open access CARIANA database and a possible migration to Transmedia
technologies.
AIMED AUDIENCE
This forum is specifically designed for Library Administrators,
Information Managers, Librarians, IT Professionals, Research
professionals, Faculty members and other interested individuals.
