The Florence Project recruits and trains several
attorneys who provide pro bono work on behalf of the
organization. These attorneys provide an important
service for their clients, who are typically detained
immigrants in the midst of the deportation process.
3. Depending on the dispensation of a certain case,
pro bono attorneys may find themselves litigating
before immigration judges, appeals courts, federal
district courts, or even the Board of Immigration
Appeals. Cases in The Florence Project’s pro bono
sphere may range from challenging resident
removals to assisting individuals with applying for
asylum or citizenship status. Pro bono attorneys
may also be called upon to help in post-conviction
relief if circumstances allow.
