15. Travelling
• February ½ term holiday week
• Leave Countesthorpe 4pm Friday 14th February
• Return around 4pm Friday 21st February
• Coach travel – crossing via Ferry / Tunnel
• Luggage – 1 soft bag and 1 small hand luggage
• Food – for the journey
• Gadget / book
20. A typical day
• Breakfast (around 7.30/8am), students make own packed lunches
after breakfast, get ready for slopes
• Onto the slopes - 10 minute bus to beginners and intermediate
slopes
• Meet up with ski instructor, 3 hours tuition
• Meet up with rest of group and rep for lunch - normally taken outside
at restaurant
• 2 hours skiing instruction in the afternoon
• Meet up with group and rep, return to hotel (16:00), showers, free
time, evening meal (probably around 18:00/18:30) and then evening
entertainment

• Sat – Get skis and sleep
• Sun – Bowling
• Mon – Mountain rollercoaster
• Tues – Pizza night
• Weds – Talent show / prizes for ski achievement
• Thurs – Pack and go home (afternoon)
22. Keeping Warm and Dry!
Essential items to pack
• Ski jacket
• Salopettes / Ski trousers
• 2 pairs thick socks
• 1 pair ski gloves
• Sun glasses and goggles
• Thick pullover/fleece, plus shirts or polo necks
• Scarf and warm hat
• Boots or heavy shoes
• High factor suntan lotion / block
Sports Direct, TK Max and Aldi have good kit at low prices
23. Other suggested items to pack
• Pillow for the journey
• Wash bag and towel
• Night clothes
• Several changes of socks and underwear
• Casual wear for evenings including warm fleece or jumper
• Pair of trainers
• Plastic bags for keeping wet clothes separate from dry
• Plastic water bottle
• Toiletries
• Small rucksack for packed lunch etc.
• We strongly suggest that all items are labelled with your
name and the name of the school so that any lost items
may be returned.
24. Behaviour
• Good behaviour is insisted upon at all times
• It’s a dangerous environment, risky sport
• It’s a school trip
• We eat together (conversation not headphones)
• There’s no alcohol
• And no skiing on your own
25. Parental Approval
• Just a reminder that parents will have to sign this
agreement… copies available tonight to sign
• “I undertake to reimburse Countesthorpe Leysland
College for the full costs of sending my child home, if
his/her behaviour is found to be unacceptable. This
includes any possession or consumption of any alcoholic
drinks”
• Please don’t test this rule ………. It could cost you £500
