7. Listening
• One of the hardest things, for me, for anyone is to listen.
To truly listen to every word, every tone, every movement,
every moment, what you say and what you don’t say. All
of it has meaning.
• We DON’T say more than we DO say = TRUE
• Met and listen with players, parents, managers, coaches,
community, mentors, peers.
8. Perspective
• Strategic Cultural Solutions
• Culture is Connection … It's connecting people!
• Reflection back to why I started coaching, why I kept
coaching
• That smile - wasn’t just a smile
9. Perspective
• That smile - wasn’t just a smile - it was a connection
• Connection is how we build Culture
10. Process
• The Culture Code (3 Culture building Skillsets)
• Build Safety
• Share Vulnerability
• Establish Purpose
11. Process
• Build Safety - Communication
• Share Vulnerability - Fears, hopes & wants
• Establish Purpose - Motivations to drive forward
13. Reflection
• This is the true joy in life, the being
used for a purpose recognized by
yourself as a mighty one; the being a
force of nature instead of a feverish,
selfish little clod of ailments and
grievances complaining that the world
will not devote itself to making you
happy.
15. Reflection
• I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the
whole community, and as long as I live it is my
privilege to do for it whatever I can.
• I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for
the harder I work the more I live. I rejoice in life
for its own sake. Life is no “brief candle” for me. It
is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of
for the moment, and I want to make it burn as
brightly as possible before handing it on to future
generations.
16. Reflection
• The single biggest problem in
communication is the illusion that it
has taken place.
George Bernard Shaw
