essential questions or thinking in terms of
their main ideas. Thin questions help them

Sometimes we must think of more keywords that would be relevant to our
question. For example: How many live volcanoes are in the world?
We may also want to look for "active" volcanoes!
Create a list of keywords that would be relevant to each question
based on your background knowledge.
What are the enemies of sea turtles?
What does a moose look like?
What is the life cycle of a wolf?

our question. Can you think of some of these questions?

Biography: Note taking Practice!
Excerpt from Knucklehead by Jon Scieszka Chapter 1, page 11
"I grew up in Flint, Michigan, with five brothers- Jim, tom,
Gregg, Brain, and What's-His-Name. The youngest one, Oh
yea---Jeff.
I'm the second oldest. And the nicest. And the smartest. And
the best looking. And the most humble.
My dad, Louis Scieszka, was an elementary-school principal. We
didn't go to his school, which was probably good, because being sent
to the principal's office would have been weird. But my dad used a lot
of his principal skills to run a house with six boys. We had the home
version of meetings and rules and schedules."
