 Normally shows mountain ranges, major lakes and

 A relief map is a special physical map that uses

that uses different colors to show different
elevations in an area.
 A key is used to show which colors represent

points in history.
 They can also be used to show the locations of
historic places and events.
 Historical map can also be used to show how
locations have changed over time. The size, shape,
and other aspects of states have been changed
throughout history. The 5o states were not always
the 50 states.
