Ultimate frisbee is a popular team sport played with a 165 gram disc, invented in universities in the 1970s. Teams of seven players try to pass the disc into the opposing team's end zone to score points, with touching of the disc by the other team resulting in a turnover. While requiring only a frisbee as equipment, it is commonly played in open outdoor spaces like beaches and fields and has grown to include organized leagues and championships in many countries.
