This lesson plan teaches students about traveling to different countries in the past tense. Students will learn how to use mind maps to organize their ideas and will write a short text about a past trip. They will then present their writing to the class, using pictures and magazines. The teacher models writing a sample text about a trip to London and has students work in groups to create their own mind map and text. Students are assessed on their grammar, verb conjugation, and pronunciation during the speaking presentation. To finish, students decorate the classroom with posters about their trip.

My trip to London
I went to London last month with my family. I visited the Tower of
London near the Thames and saw the Beefeaters, the guardians of the
Tower.
Then, we visited Big Ben and Westminster Abbey. Because we were
hungry, we had lunch at the 'Sherlock Holmes Pub' a famous place near
Trafalgar Square. After lunch, we decided to do some shopping at
Picadilly Circus. There were lots of shops there!
When night came, we had dinner at Covent Garden and heard some jazz
bands. We had a good time and tasted the famous Irish coffee. At the
end of the evening, we were walking back to our hotel but we got lost in
the streets! A cold wind was blowing and I got the flu!
