Medieval Weapons and Warfare By: Charlotte Lennox Regan Moran Avery Hinson Sun valley
Success Levels us Average army
First defenses The first defense are the people in the back of the lineup that will fire first, before the hand to hand combat fighters. They fire 200 pound rocks over a 300 meter distance. To do this they would use trebuchets, a wooden lever with a sling attached to the back. This is a very effective way to get rid of a large quantity of your enemies. There will be ten trebuchets, five people working each. There will then be 200 archers, each supplied with a long bow and 50 arrows. These longbows were made from either oak or maple. The strategy is that all 200 people are going to fire an arrow to a specific area killing and wounding the people and animals in that area and using the stray arrows to kill strays around them.
Calvary Heavily armored men on armored horses. They carry lances 9 to 14 feet long made of ash wood with a metal tip made of iron or steel. The knights would ride into enemy lines and devastate their forces by killing men a horses. They carry shields to protect themselves form other Calvary or swords. This weapon was a deadly weapon in battle but was also used for jousting tournaments. If we have 200 men in the Calvary unit then we will hurt the enemy’s forces.
Second defense line This line is the line that leads them into battle. As the front line the best thing to do is to keep your enemies at a distance and if they get too close, kill them. If you kill your enemies front line then the prior defenses will be weaker and weaker. First rule of battle- Never put your weakest group in front, so if we kill their front group, it will be a piece of cake. So if they rush us it will be best to put the long spearmen in the front with shields and the most armor. They will each also carry 10 inch daggers for when they kill all of the horses and are forced to jump into hand to hand combat. This will lessen the risk of getting our closer combat people killed before we get a chance to fight. So a group of maybe 200 in two lines will keep them at a safe distance for maybe 3- 4 minute
LastDefenses If the enemy gets past our spearmen we know that if they had horses that the horses will, for the most part, be dead. When spearing you kill the animal they ride so they have to come down and fight hand to hand. So, that is why the second line of defense will be the 30 inch broadswords, battle axes, and war hammers. The broadswords will be plain leather hilt with a steel blade. Any jewels or adornment will only make the weapon heavier and slower. It will be sharp and polished for a cleaner cut and will be light so that the men can also carry a wooden shield. A kite shield is best because square aren’t as maneuverable and circle provide less protection. Then battle axes, a large wooden or steel handle with a double bladed steel blades on either side of the hilt. The battle axes will be important because they can kill in one well aimed blow. They are slower but kill more in less amount of time. They aren’t one of the most “heroic” weapons but they kill as good as anything. So having maybe 100 of each will keep the enemies very busy.
Last Defenses (CONTINUED) The second half of the last defenses will be the mace, an armored weapon consisting of a spiked steel ball at the end of a length of chain attached to a leather bound wooden handle. This is a deadly weapon that will continue to kill and swing without constant re- swinging. This can kill the person you are fighting, wound them so they cannot fight, or simply knock them out with a blow to the head. It can be a very useful weapon when attacked by a large group because you just spin in a circle and can wound all of them with a single spin.
More weapons that we will use to kill you: Atlatl: a tool that uses leverage to achieve greater velocity in dart throwing, and includes a bearing surface which allows the user to temporarily store energy during the throw. Siege tower/belfry: a large tower made of wood and metal, usually as tall as a wall, standing on four wheels so that it can move on the battle field. Since the surface is flammable, we decided to cover it with animal skins and other inflammable materials so that our opponents cannot destroy it. Archers will station themselves on top of it so that they can fire their arrows from above. This will be part of the first line of defense.
More weapons that we will use to kill you with:
Relics The Seamless Robe of Jesus: this is a rare relic that is the exact robe that Jesus wore during his crusification. The lack of seems represent perfection and purity. If someone has been blessed by this before battle they blesses to perform and fight close to perfectly and pure but they cannot fight totally perfect because only god is perfect Bone of Christ: special relic that blesses all that support their lord during battle. If someone has been blessed by this bone they are promised to win the battle.
Food Before every battle we treat our most important and best fighters to a feast in the castle completed with extravagant meat such as pheasant. There were lavish side dishes and wonderful decorations. Everyone else would be given a small expensive meal so that they would also be fed for battle. These meals were rare so they motivated our knights and fighters to do well in battle. This also helps recruit other serfs to fight too.
Hostages/Torture If we are involved in an ongoing war we will capture a few survivors and put them into our siege tower and take them back to base. We will then use torture methods to make them divulge any secrets that they are holding that we want to know. We may not always even use our torture methods but just use the statement to frighten the prisoners into divulging us their secrets. There are several torture methods that we will use to get what we want.
Allies Allies are good and bad. They can help you and also turn on you. You should choose to only be allies with teams that you know you can trust and feel that will benefit your own army. You may not need any allies at all. Don’t feel as if you need to become allies with anyone because there may not be anyone that will benefit you. Make sure your whole army is on board with you allies-ships because that could cause trouble in your army. BE CAREFULL
Allies We have decided not to reveal if we have any allies and if we do who they are. All we are going to say is that we are always cautious on who we trust and if they will benefit our already strong army. We are ALWAYS careful and you should be too. STILL BE CARFULL!
Questions you should ask yourself before voting: Does the other team have such a well planned out and strategic battle plan? Do they have as big of an army as us? Is their army as well trained, supplied, and fed as ours? Are their weapons as advanced? Do they have a siege tower???
Success Levels us Average army Aka other team
Thanks For Watching Reasons you should vote for us Because our army is big and well armed Because we have holy relics We use effective torture methods Because we have well trained fighters Because we have deadly weapons Because we have an awesome battle plan Because we are smart Because we will kill all who challenge us Because we will WIN!! Note: pics armor battle techniques As you can see from our battle plans we are superior than others
