1. Cynthia Padilla
In high school I was involved in many activities and school programs. One program that I was involved in was called AOJ (Administration of Justice). I have to say that this program opened my mind in knowing that I wanted to continue my education. Two weeks after graduating high school, I started college. I enrolled into the Criminal Justice program at Argosy University in 2005, where I received my Associate Degree. At this point I was confidant in knowing the information that I needed to know in criminal justice field, although I still had the urge to know why people commit crime. I became fascinated in the mind and how it works. Feeling accomplished in my success I decided to enroll into the Psychology undergraduate program at Argosy University. I am happy to say that this was one of the greatest decision that I have made.
Some of my strength in my educational career are that I was very determined, focused and enthusiastic about learning. I set my mind to finish what I had started. Although I had a few setback in my education, I never gave up hope and stayed persistent in moving forward with what I had. Being alert was key in my education. I knew that taking in information that will potentially help me in my career and was only beneficial. Having always been driven to seek out information to help me better understand a subject, has helped me gather the accurate information needed to makes me a great candidate for a position in the psychology field.
My immense weakness in my educational career was overloading myself. Due to the fact that I'm a very determined person, when I have set goals, I want to be sure they are accomplish in the original timely manner. Due to personal issue, I was set back a few semesters from school. When returning, I saw the opportunity to finish my undergraduate program at the original set date. Knowing this information I overloaded myself with one too many classes. Although I'm great about finishing what I started, I came to the realization that I had put too much on my plate. This was only hurting me. After doing a semester of several classes, I decided that I would give myself a break. I came to terms with knowing that eventually I would get my BA and I'm still very proud of myself.
Learning is something that no one stops doing. Something or some subject can always be taught and learned every day. My hopes for my future is to continue my education and become an expert in my field. Accomplishing this would help me, help others achieve their life goals.
